The Devil I Don't Know is the first book in the "Brooklyn Kings" series but this is also a very new to me author. I just saw some readers chatting about this one on Instagram and I was intrigued. I was immediately drawn into this one here and I will admit that the trope surrounding this one is what originally drew me into this here. I just have such a weakness for arranged marriages and in this one it just has such a traditional feel to the relationship. So if you are fans of Cora Reilly, Katee Robert or Neva AltaJ, then I actually recommend this one to you.

Now the writing isn't super polished or as drawn out as some readers might be used to, it did take me a bit to get used to it. But once I got used to it, I was completely hooked into this one here. I had such a wonderful time with this one. I just adored the characters here. It was so refreshing to have a hero that was so patient and understanding and not lashing out at the heroine. Sometimes we see this in arranged marriages, but in this one, they really worked as a team and he was so protective. I adored the heroine as well, she was such a good match. She was strong but also kind and empathatic . I found her to be so refreshing within this story.

Overall I had a blast of a time with this one and can't wait to see what is delivered in the next one, its enemies to lovers, so definitely will bide my time maybe on it.

If you are wanting some good mafia romance I would recommend Michelle Heard, JT Geissinger, Neva AltaJ, and the mafia wars by Maggie Cole.
