Sweet Home (Sweet Home, #1)
by
9/9/16...After watching the NFL opener last night - GO BRONCOS! - I feel like setting everything else aside and re-reading one of my all-time favorite football series again...
10/19/15...Re-read...
I've read this so many times, if it were a paperback, the pages would be worn out. Just LOVE it.
Every time.
5+++++ Sweet Stars
This book was like a mix of Legally Blonde, A Cinderella Story (that movie with Hilary Duff), Beautiful Disaster, completely over the top family drama and possessiveness, spikes of Alabama football, and the ridiculous names of Molly Juliet Shakespeare and Romeo Prince...all with with an English flair to sweeten the kitty...and I inhaled it like a Dyson.
I am a total sucker for the hot guy falls for the nerd stories.
It's shameful. It's cliche. And I'm not sorry.
And if you take that theme AND add sports, and alpha male, AND random Shakespearean and Monty Python references?!?!
Holeeeeeeee. Shite.
Mind BLOWN.
I enjoyed the fuck out of this story.
Molly was really sweet and level-headed and I liked her a lot.
And Romeo was swoon-worthy.
I just LOVED them.
There was also a decent supporting cast and an engaging plot, which I always love. I'm looking forward to reading more from this author.

“I don’t remember Romeo being this pushy with Juliet!”.....He arched his eyebrows meaningfully. “And look at how that worked out for them. My way is better—less death, more orgasms.”

Great review ValPal. I need to get to these. I have all of them (that are out). I hear book two is gutwrenchingly good.

Yes, book two is one of those same/similar story from HIS POVS type things - which I usually hate - but I actually ended up loving that one even more than this one. In fact, I might just re-read that next. Really stressed right now and just want non-angsty reads.
I hope you love them if you read them!

My smile got bigger and bigger as I read your review. You definitely speak my language. Getting this one on audible since they're about to yank my credits.

Ha! I always do that! After watching football I crave a football romance -- shouldn't these authors bank on that?!? I really enjoyed this series too ;)
Lol, that's how I feel about Just This Once. I picked it up again after finishing The Sparrow, I needed the comfort. Bless those books in our lives.
You have inspired me to read Sweet Rome. I think it's been long enough since I've read Sweet Home that I can handle it now.
Wonderful review Val! I love this series, I can totally understand why you would want to reread it!!!♥

When isn't a book by TILLIE COLE not fan-fucking-tastic?
Case in point have you read the Hades Hangmen series? One of the best I have ever read.

I knew I liked your reviews for some other reason than that they're hilarious! Went to Pueblo county high, then on to Boulder for college, go BRONCOS! Course when I was there Elway was the man and Shanahan the qauterback coach, but I'm showing my age so I'm gonna shut up. Never read this book, but i'm gonna tonite.
