Lead (Stage Dive, #3)

If you’re already a Stage Dive fan then this will not disappoint.
Jimmy the lead singer of Stage Dive is out of rehab. He’s sober yes but he’s cranky, grumpy, hot headed, and a general overall hard ass. Deeper though is a sad, lonely, and broken man.
Lena takes on the job of being his sobriety companion/assistant. She’s hardened, steadfast, aloof, but loyal.
For a lot of the book, except during the funeral, they have a professional relationship. Their relationship functions well as being somewhat detached and emotionally uninvolved.
Things get complicated when Lena starts to discover what lies beneath the surface. She knows his flaws but she also starts seeing why he’s the way he is and also what is endearing about him. Needless to say her affection for him complicates things especially because Jimmy is emotionally adolescent. Lena shines the most with her quiet but steadfast campaign to explore his softer side. Making him realize and apologize when he’s been an asshole and says awful things, teaching him the benefits of giving and receiving hugs, and even kissing. Yes – kissing even though he was a man whore pre-rehab. I enjoyed the unfolding of Jimmy’s “softer side” education even though it was a bit sad that these things were not part of his life growing up.
Oh and let me just say that Jimmy is naughty. There were some hot scenes. There’s a long section dedicated to Jimmy’s AMAZING talent with him mouth and tongue. My goodness was it hot hot hot!!!
There’s an epilogue and there are definitely some events I look forward to in the next book. It also of course sets up Ben’s story.
It also has to be said that the standout secondary character in this book is once again Mal!!!! OMG was he not only hilarious but eerily insightful. He was in top form in this book and I just loved him all over again!
A great rock star romance with complicated characters with a dash of lightness and humor.

Fantab review. You know I don't typically read your reviews until AFTER I've read the book and gave it my own review. As to your Jimmy.....I want.
