First appearance Mario is Missing! (1993)

Mayor Chasen is a character exclusive to the PC versions of Mario is Missing!, appearing as the fictional mayor of New York City, United States. Like all other mayors in the game, they contact Luigi via videophone upon his arrival in the city, as well as after all of the artifacts in the area have been returned to their rightful locations. In the first call, Mayor Chasen states that they sent the newspaper indicating there are four turtles but no police.

Once all of the artifacts have been recovered, Luigi receives a second call from Mayor Chasen, who thanks him for saving the city from the Koopas and wishes him luck on the rest of his adventure.

Mayor Chasen shares their name with Jeff Chasen, who served as programmer of Software Development at The Software Toolworks.

Quotes[edit]

  • "Luigi, this Mayor Chasen. Sitting down? See the front page of the newspaper I forwarded? Turtles, 4. Police, 0, zip, nothing, nada, zero. The tourists are scared. No landmarks, no tourists. No tourists, no money. No money, no new landmarks. Those turtle things are history, comprende?"
  • "Luigi. You've saved our city from the Koopas, and the people are grateful. Thank you, good luck and good bye! And say hi to Mario when you find him!"
