Reliability/Availability
High reliability of oil flooded screw compressors allows for operations in critical services without a stand-by. Less parts Oil flooded screw compressors are simple and robust. Screw compressors do not have many moving parts such as compressor chamber suction and discharge valves in reciprocating compressors,. Screw compressors with less moving parts have less downtime, less spares usage, and less maintenance resulting in lower lifetime costs. Low operating temperatures Oil flooded screw compressors transfer most of the heat of compression to the oil, allowing for low operating temperatures resulting in longer machine life and higher reliability. Low operating speeds Oil injected compressors are normally directly coupled to electric motor driver hence operating at two or four pole speed. The lower speed results in less stress hence longer machine life.
Screw compressors are positive displacement compressors hence are unaffected by changes in gas molecular weight unlike centrifugal compressors which are extremely sensitive to molecular weight changes.

Capacity Control
As with all of Mycoms screw compressors, integral variable slide valve is provided. The slide valve will allow capacity variance down to approximately 10% of the compressor capacity without the need for recirculation.
Mycoms compound compressors provide higher efficiencies and are able to handle two separate flows (i.e., main and side streams) for single unit solution.
Screw compressors do not require special foundations or pulsation dampners or silencers like reciprocating compressors resulting in lower installation costs.
