Using Edmodo Across

the Curriculum
Stephanie Convicer
& Jennifer Pablico
Grade 4 ~ Runkle School
Edmodo provides a way to teach to different
learning styles
It is a cyber classroom where social interaction
still exists
The format of Edmodo is simple and easy to use
The teacher continues to play an important
role in student performance on Edmodo.
Why we chose Edmodo:
We want students to understand that responsibility
comes with using the internet. We want to instill
positive online habits in our fourth graders, so the
first few lessons were about Digital Citizenship.
Positives so far
students posting
students responding to each other
sharing projects
ways to interact
poll
How did we start?
Edmodo serves as an opportunity for
students to practice reading directions and
following multiple steps.
Giving Directions...
Students collaborating & getting feedback
from each other
Olweus, thoughts on current curricular
units, review questions, etc.

Posting and Responding...
Edmodo provides students with an
opportunity to share a quick preference
and is useful for teachers too!
Creating Polls...
Edmodo allows you to easily embed videos
or links you want your students to view.

Also embed projects for students to view
and respond to their peers with positive
feedback.
Embedding...
-responding to each other builds community
-students are able to see different perspectives of their
classmates
-students are able to receive validating feedback, not
only from teachers, but also their peers
-provides teachers with a quick snapshot of student
thinking
-Edmodo can be accessed from home

Benefits of Using Edmodo Thus Far
-student created polls and quizzes
-connect between classrooms
-brainstorming activities
-more embedding of links

-possibilities are endless!
