October 9, 2015 Announcements: We will not have any homework this week because of fall break. Parent conference day is Thursday, October 15th. If you are unable to meet on the 15th please email me so we can set up a day and time for a conference. Fall break is October 15th -16th. There is no school for students on these days. Monday October 19th is our 50th day of school. Children are encouraged to dress in 50s attire. We will have a sock hop and other 50s themed activities to celebrate. Friday, October 30th is Book Character Day. Please help your child dress up as his or her favorite book character. Picture retakes have been changed to Tuesday, November 10th.
A Peek at Our Week
Reading/Language Arts: We will review all of our short vowel sounds and their spelling patterns. We will also review characters, setting, and main events. Math: We are continuing to learn addition strategies for adding numbers 0-20. Social Studies: We are celebrating Columbus Day and learning about Christopher Columbus.
