ALTERNATIVE OPTIONS:
Your child may/may not be given the subjects of his/her choice. This depends on your child’s performance in the Form 3 year
together with limitations regarding class size. Therefore, alternatives must be selected in the spaces provided to secure
your child’s preferential subject options.
The table below illustrates CAPE Subject Groupings presently offered at this school, in case your child is contemplating
entry into Form Six.
• Caribbean Studies and Communication Studies are excluded in selection as both subjects are compulsory
(neither can be substituted for other subjects) for all Form 6 students at Year 1 and 2 respectively.
• Admittance is based on academic merit (.i.e Grade Ones) at CXC O level and specifically those pre-requisites
subjects which are compulsory to enter CAPE. Preference will be given to those students who have achieved
Grade Ones in the subjects they wish to pursue.
Pre-requisites:
• To do Mathematics at A’ Levels, students must have passed Additional Mathematics.
• To do Economics or Business Studies at A’ Levels, students must do both P.O.A. and P.O.B. at the CSEC Level.
• To do Sociology at A’Levels, students must do both Social Studies and History or Literature at the CSEC Level.
• To do Biology at A’Levels, students must have at least a Grade II in Chemistry at the CSEC Level.
• To gain admittance into A’Levels, preference will be given to students who achieve Grade Ones in the
subjects that they wish to pursue.
This form must be returned to the school by Monday 25th May, 2015.
