Week 8 Blog
This is where you think about your FMP learning journey and development.
Don’t simply describe what you did - consider what you have learnt and how this has benefitted
your project. What do you need to improve?
THIS IS JUST GUIDANCE THAT YOU NEED TO ADAPT TO YOUR OWN PROJECT. YOU HAVE CREATED YOUR
OWN PRODUCTION SCHEDULES AND YOUR WEEKLY BLOGS SHOULD REFELCT THAT.
THESE QUESTIONS SHOULD BE ADDRESSED IN THE WEEKS YOU COMPLETED THEM. DO NOT JUST SUBMIT THIS
FORM FILLED IN FOR YOUR WEEKLY BLOGS. THERE SHOULD BE 11 WEEKLY BLOG ENTRIES (INCLUDING
EASTER).
FILMING
What practical work have you done The practical work I have done this week was 3 days work of
this week - and how helpful was your filming, I had filmed in 4 different locations and used all of my
earlier planning? actor’s potential. I also utilised all of my props and sets. It was a
very productive week and everything got done quicker than I
thought. The earlier planning helped loads, having all of this
information of what to bring and who would be turning up on
one day was big stress relief, in my crew list i had contact sheets
for my actors, so I could easily contact them if they were late or
missing.
This picture was when all of my crew arrived, we sat down and
discussed the game plan was, we sat down for a good half an
hour, I had a presentation ready, showing people the story
board and script (keep in and that I have shown them the script
before but not the storyboards) we went rough the story, where
we were going, location and props requires ( I also showed the
prop and equipment lists) we then set up costumes, and got the
camera, then headed out, I also briefed people eon what kind
of character and personalities I’m expecting to see, they all
understood my directions and were fun to work with.
What issues did you encounter whilst Background noise was quite an issue, from the first part of the
out filming and how did you film we were filming next to a road, and also next to big
overcome them? gardens, so cars, airplanes and lawnmowers would have been
frequent, I stated this in my location recees and turns out it
came true, we had the odd car, and we had to re take the shot
a couple of times because of the cars. But I had to settle with
one shot where a car walked over the shot.
How suitable do you feel your The location were thought out in planning, I had everything
locations were for your filming? figured out for the filming day. My long driveway at my house
was great for the introductory scene, I laid out markers for the
locations and made sure everyone was in their proper place,
filming at my house went smoothly and all went according to
plan.
Paris house was great too, the short spaces were great for using
his tripod for the montage scenes.
How have you made use of the I used a lot of technical skills, I focussed up on my practice
technical skills you have developed so shoots, and put the research into practice for my actual
far this year? production. The tracking shot went really well, following my
research and what I got from my test shoots, I pulled it off really
well.
Having reviewed your footage, are I feel like I need to reshoot a couple of things, there was
you happy with what you have focussing issues, shaky cameras, and most importantly some of
captured and does anything need the sound was horrible. I don’t have enough time to reshoot
reshooting? though, since I am a little behind, I should have been on the
case but was unfortunately unable to catch up properly.
Are you ready to edit? If not, how far I am ready to edit. I have all the footage I need, and all the
behind are you? effects to make a rough draft.
What work do you need to complete I need to shoot 2 more scenes, and that is it, I have enough to
outside of lessons to stay on track? make a draft though.
