WEEKLY JOURNALS

This is where you think about your FMP learning journey and development.
Don’t simply describe what you did - consider what you have learnt and how this has benefitted
your project. What do you need to improve?

THIS IS JUST GUIDANCE THAT YOU NEED TO ADAPT TO YOUR OWN PROJECT. YOU HAVE CREATED YOUR
OWN PRODUCTION SCHEDULES AND YOUR WEEKLY BLOGS SHOULD REFELCT THAT.

THESE QUESTIONS SHOULD BE ADDRESSED IN THE WEEKS YOU COMPLETED THEM. DO NOT JUST SUBMIT THIS
FORM FILLED IN FOR YOUR WEEKLY BLOGS. THERE SHOULD BE 11 WEEKLY BLOG ENTRIES (INCLUDING
EASTER).

Week Nine – Editing

EDITING

How did you find the editing process? Editing was a breeze, I started out by putting all of the clips
into place, to make a coherent story, I then cut them into
shape, so that they don’t have any unnecessary clips in it,
such as when I say “action” and things like that, one that all
was done, I laid down music and sound effect, that had
crucial important into the story, I then put down voiceovers
and other sound effect, then the green screens, then finally
colour correction, it all went down smoothly, I have released a
rough draft and a final draft already, I just nee to get the final
edit done and I can send it off.

What skills did you have to I have developed a really keen eye for colour correcting, ever
learn/develop during the editing since unit 6 when I was fiddling around with lumietri colour
process? setting, and now this, the colour correction is so important and
I’m quite surprised that I did not pick up these skills earlier.

Another skill I have obtained is of montaging, montages are

fun. Last time I attempted a montage was in SaveGame,
which got good recognition, so I might as well try again as it
picked up really well and is something I seem to be really
good at.

Upload screenshots of the editing

process and explain what they show.
Tis screenshot is my montage, it’s a neat little sequence that
has been formatted and organised, this was quite a hallmark
in my sequence, as it was the first time me messing around
with the Speed / Duration settings on premier pro. Those pink
sections are the images and moving time lapses, it was quite
an impressive scene and it turned out really well paired with
the music.

This image was when I experimented with warp stabilizers, as

stated before, I had tons of shots that were really shaky. After
discovering warp stabilizer form teachers and friends, I
couldn’t believe my eyes, it was absolutely amazing that I
could literally take the shake out of my long moving sections. It
was a timesaver and an amazing tool.

This Image is from my part 3 timeline where they start to

decide what to do with all the bitcoin they have made. I have
selected this image because it’s just satisfying to look at, I
spent ages dragging and cutting them into place, and it’s just
a really enjoyable thing to see all of my hard work pay off.

What issues did you have to A problem I overcame was time management, I had so much
overcome whilst editing? How did you to edit in a small time span, it took me days to perfect an
move past them? actual sequence and having all for this in my face and the
deadline racing towards me, I had to edit fast, I ended up
having to rush the ending a little bit. It was frustrating but it was
the only way I could produce a finished edit while meeting my
deadline in time.

Have you identified any scenes which I don’t think these scene need reshooting or re editing, I think
need re-shooting? Will you be able to all of my shots were timed well and editing to a satisfactory
do this? standard.
Are you on track this week? If not, I am catching up, I am not that far behind with the things that
how far behind are you? needs doing.

What work do you need to complete I need to finish up some preproduction. Other than that, that is
outside of lessons to stay on track? it.

High Grade Tips

Evaluation & Reflection

● ‘reasoned decisions and inform the development of ideas’ – both your evaluation and the
weekly reflections above will clearly show both how and why your ideas developed throughout
the project
● ‘demonstrating clarity in thinking’ – all of the above plus very clear links between your research,
planning, idea development and the production of your poster and film trailer
