21 Killed as Bus Plunges into Ravine in Indonesia

West Java Regional Police said around 21 people were killed after two buses plunged into the ravine in
Cikidang, Sukabumi Regency, West Java Province, Saturday (8/9).

The first accident struck a bus belonging to the National Resilience Institute (Lemhanas) which carried
dozens of teachers from DKI Jakarta plunging into a ravine as deep as about 100 meters in Tanjakan
Cisarakan, Kampung Cisarakan, Sukabumi Regency, West Java.

The second accident occurred on the B-7025-SAG police number bus carrying a group of employees of
Honda motorbike dealers PT Catur Putra Group from Bogor. Their buses plunged into a 25-meter ravine
in Cikidang, Sukabumi Regency, West Java.

Kecelakaan kedua terjadi pada bus nomor polisi B-7025-SAG yang


mengangkut rombongan karyawan dealer motor Honda PT Catur
Putra Grup dari Bogor. Bus mereka terjun ke jurang sedalam 25
meter di Cikidang, Kabupaten Sukabumi, Jawa Barat.

A spokesman at Pelabuhanratu hospital, Taufik said that in addition to 21 people killed, nine other
people who boarded the bus suffered serious injuries.
