I. Objective:
At the end of 60 minute period the students will be able to:
a. listens critically to different text types; expresses ideas logically in oral and
written forms; and demonstrates interest in reading to meet various needs
b. identifies the elements of literary texts
c. reads aloud the text with appropriate accuracy rate 95- 100%
d. creates a summarize storyboard
e. writes a composition based on the storyboard that you made
f. observes politeness and kindness at all times

3. Energizer
the teacher will play a video entitled “Five Wicked Witches”
4. Checking of attendance
The class monitor will be requested to check the absent in the class
5. Setting of classroom standards
The teacher will ask the students about their class rules regarding
what to consider if the class is on going

The students will pass their assignments at the count of 10

c. Motivation
The teacher will group the students into three.
The teacher will post the Wanda the Witch with her riddles to brew.
Each group will be given two riddles. Solve the tricky riddles of
Wanda. Letters in her cauldron will help you.

The students will read the story “Bewitched” on page 185- 186
(Interactive reading)
b. Comprehension check
The teacher will follow up comprehension questions
o Who are the characters in the story?
o When and where did the story happen?
o Why didn’t people want to come near Aling Lumeng’s
shack?
o What did Eric’s friends dare him to do?
o Did Eric do what his friends asked? Why?
o What happened when Eric went back to Aling Lumeng’s
House for his missing book?
o How did Eric help?
o If you were Eric, would you have done the same thing? Why
or why not?
o Did the boys lose their fear of Aling Lumeng? Why or why
not?
o Explain the ending “old Aling Lumeng had cast her spell.”
Activity 1
DIRECTIONS: Read the story “Bewitched” again. Choose Important
events that happened. Draw them in the cells. The events you choose
should show the introduction, rising action, climax, falling actions, and
resolution of the story.
Activity 2
DIRECTIONS: Based on the storyboard that you made, write the
summary of the story, “Bewitched”

IV. Evaluation
Activity 1
The teacher will ask question regarding the story.
o What lesson you learned from the story “Bewitched”?
The teacher will also provide a saying in connection to the story.
o “Be kind, for everyone you meet is fighting a hard bottle.”
(Let the student express their thoughts and opinion about
this quotation.)
Activity 2
The teacher will provide a situation in connection with the story.
The student will give their own thoughts and opinions about it and
explain in front of the class.
DIRECTIONS. Tell how you can show your kindness in the following situations
like what Eric did in the story.
