Lesson Plan in English Grade 7

I. OBJECTIVES

At the end of discussion the students should be able to:

1. Distinguish Blends and Glides.

2. Formulate a sentence with Blends and Glides.

3. Express appreciation in proper pronunciation of words with Blends and Glides through
a conversation.

The teacher will show a picture and raise some questions about the picture.
B. Lesson Proper

b1. Discussion

1. A discussion in which a teacher will introduce and explain Blends and

Glides. The definition and example words will be posted on the board and

read by volunteered students.

2. The teacher will ask additional example words and then have the

students use it in a sentence.

b2. Activity

1. Activity Title: “Listen & Select” (10 minutes)

2. Standard Setting:

2a. The class will be divided into two (2) groups.

2b. The teacher will play a song entitled “Shake it Off” and have

the student listen to it. Then each group will be provided a copy of

song lyrics and underline the Blends and Glides words then have

them use it in a sentence.

2c. Lastly, the teacher will have the groups to recite the

their works in the front of the class.

2d. Their work will be evaluated with this criteria:

Delivery – 10 pts.

Correctness of answer – 10 pts.


Cooperation – 5 pts.

 How Blends differ from Glides?

 Why is it important to know on how to pronounce consonant letters?

 What is the function of Blends and Glides?

 Why are there Blends and Glides?

b4. Application

1. The teacher will paste a short conversation on the board.

2. Then, the teacher will ask some volunteered students. The students

will underline the example words of Blends and Glides on the

conversation.

EVALUATION

Fill in the blanks the correct consonants for each indicated pictures.

I. ASSIGNMENT

Look around in your surroundings and lists some objects which can be

considered as Blends and Glides.
