WORK METHOD STATEMENT

FOR
DYNAMIC PILE TESTING

TESTING PROCEDURE

1 Only a person with extensive experience on the usage of CAPWAP computer software
shall conduct Pile Driving Analyzer test.
2 The pile point and quantity to introduce PDA test on site shall be selected and confirmed
by Consultant.
3 Dynamic pile testing is by means of having heavy impact by drop of hammer onto a pile
head.
4 The testing equipment include impact is provided by a drop pile hammer.
5 Force and velocity are captured by two pair of transducer cable and then transfer to the
computer.
6 The exposed driven pile shall be at least 1.0 meter from ground level for giving a space to
fix the transducer.
7 Tow pairs of transducer and accelerometer are bolted at two sides of tested pile.
8 The transducer cable then shall be connected to the Pile Driving Analyzer.
9 Pile hammer shall be standby to introduce a driving force onto tested pile.
10 For the first step, one drop of pile hammer shall be introduced onto pile head.
11 Force and velocity will be analyzed by computer and it will display on the build-in LCD
screen.
12 After that, 10 drops of pile hammer shall be introduced. The computer will be analyzed
the data.
13 At the same time, graph setting per 10 blows shall be taken.
14 The PDA test then can determine the pile integrity, pile stress and depth of pile driven.

1
REPORTING

1 Initial results are available after completion of each test.

2 A full report shall be submitted within 7 days. This report shall include :

a. Pile information
b. Date of pile driven
c. Date of testing
d. Pile location
e. Length of pile below ground
f. Maximum load the pile can received.
g. Pile integrity
h. Computation force versus time
i. Computation load versus time.
