The case study is about the hotel named Le Moulin Blanc. This case study has been
presented from the point of view of Elizabeth Lapsik who was working at this hotel as an
employee. She joined the hotel as an employee of sales and marketing department. When
she joined the hotel, there were many other employees who joined the hotel at different
posts. Those six employees were hired as receptionists. There was a front office manager,
a chief financial officer, a senior director and his secretary and also housekeepers. Elizabeth
Lapsik observed that there was no Human resource department in the hotel. Thus lack of
leadership at the organization was the main factor which was responsible for its poor
performance. Hotel was ready to inaugurate in the month of June, but the employees of the
company observed that 15th floor of the hotel was not yet ready to be started. There was poor
workman ship at the hotel, due to which various tasks were incomplete. But the process of
registration for the month of June and early July was started. The hotel owner claimed that
the 15th floor of the hotel will be completed in the month of November. Elizabeth Lapsik
observed various wrong things at the hotel. The major issue was the absence of the human
resource department and another biggest amazing fact was that none of the employees had
ever met the owner of the hotel. The hotel tried their best for their marketing but they did not
remain successful in receiving as many guests as they were expecting. Here poor
organizational structure was responsible for the unsuccessful activities of the hotel.
From this entire situation, Elizabeth Lapsik observed that the main reason behind the failure
services for treatment of the guests. Employees were not being paid salaries on time. All
these factors of poor organizational performance and organizational structure led to failure

There was low level of motivation of employees in Le Moulin Blanc Hotel. The
surprising fact was that no employee had ever met the owner of the restaurant.
Employees were not at all satisfied from their salaries. Thus they started looking for
another options. Economic crisis of 2008 was the high time for hotel, when employees
started looking for other jobs. Management of the hotel was continuously doing efforts to
save their money, thus they were continuously cutting the salaries of the employees. They
were not motivated towards the achievement of the objectives of the organization. There
was no source of motivation for the employees to increase their efficiency. Shortage of
employees at the hotel was also resulted into low productivity. The hotel started imposing
fines on each and every activity of employees and increase the shift hours of the
employees but did not increase their salaries. Thus it led to low level of motivation of
affected by almost all the departments of the hotel. The major issue was the absence of
considered as the head of the organization which is responsible for the smooth working of
all the departments of the organization. The mismanagement in the hotel was the main

There is direct relationship between organizational culture, politics and structure and
necessary efforts to judge the variable which have affect on the performance and
functioning of organization. Culture and structure of the organization plays a crucial role
in affecting overall efficiency of the hotel. A strong organizational culture boosts the
