1. INTRODUCTION
2. PURPOSE
The purpose of this document is to elaborate the methodology of Installation of Cable Ladders and
Perforated Trays for the project 2201- 236 DESIGN & CONSTRUCTION OF KIZAD GAS
NETWORK – PHASE 1.

4. RESPONSIBILITIES
Project Manager
Shall be overall responsible for the Execution, Quality & HSE management of the Project.
Shall be responsible for all coordination with Contractor, correspondences and attend all weekly /
monthly meetings.
Construction Manager
Shall be overall responsible for execution of work with strict adherence to project Quality, HSE
plan at site.
Shall be responsible for mobilizing proper resources to site as per Project requirement
Shall be responsible for implementation of Approved Method Statements, Task Risk Assessment &
Drawings during execution of work.
Shall be responsible for overall execution planning at micro level, monitoring and controlling of all
construction activities
Shall be responsible to ensure all works are performed with adequate safety measures at working
areas.
Shall be responsible to provide the resources for safe execution of the Project
Site Engineer
The Site Engineer shall ensure to carry out site survey accordingly to the design, approved
drawings and procedures
He shall be responsible on behalf of the contractor coordinate, check and follow up the work with
relevant parties and ensure the proper sequence of activities are followed in order to achieve
target completion time.

Shall be responsible for carrying out all the activities including but not limited to ensure the
surveying and setting out is done as per the AFC drawings and works are carried out as per the
project specification
Shall be responsible for obtaining the work permits from Contractor / Company and ensure the site
HSE regulations are followed.
Organize and ensure that all necessary resources are available for execution of works to meet
schedules
Shall be responsible for planning and co-ordination of day to day work activities and notify the next
day’s work plan to all concerned including the QA/QC Department.
To conduct daily tool box talks prior to start an activity and maintain a record.
Keep in hand all the required documents such as ADNOC Permit and Certificate Copy, approved
MS, approved TRA, approved drawings, third party certificates of equipment/tools/operators etc.
Instruct the workers to keep the worksite always clean and ensure the site is well cleaned/secured at
the end of day’s work.
After completion of job, remove all material, tools and equipment’s from worksite.
Shall verify that all safety measures have been implied and notify the Job Performer/Supervisor if it
is so.
Ensure that tool box talk conducted prior to start the job by Job Performer; confirm all personnel
understood the topic discussed and signed the document.

QA / QC Engineer
Shall be responsible for implementation of all procedures, ITP and specification Quality
requirements.
Conduct inspections as per the approved ITP and maintain proper records for future checking and
maintenance.
QA/QC Inspector
The QA/QC inspector shall ensure that works are carried out in accordance to the requirement of
quality control.
The QA/QC inspector shall ensure that necessary ITP for inspection and testing are processed and
send to Company/PMC representative for notification. He shall ensure that material being used is in
accordance with project specification and approved by the company.

6. METHODOLGY
Approved Method Statement and Risk Assessment shall be attached with permit for all the
activities.
Installation of cable tray has to carryout in electrical building room for Fire and gas devices,
Flow Metering skid and Active cooled shelter
Routing of cable tray in electrical bulding room shall be carried out as per approved routing layout
Main cables from active cooled shelter to skid routed through trenches and raising of cables
to skid mounted Junction box through cable trays
Raising of cables from trenches to Active cooled shelter has to carried out as per approved
routing layout.
Supports provided for cable tray should be verified before installation cable trays
Painting for Cable Trays and Supports shall be in accordance with painting specification DGS-6600-
010
Sizing of the cable trays shall allow 30% spare capacity for future cables
Earth continuity shall be maintained at all joints with suitable earthing links
Burrs or sharp edges shall be removed prior to the installation of tray sections or accessories.
Bushes shall be provided through all holes cut in the body of the tray.
All cable raceways and its accessories shall be in accordance with DGS standards.

Care shall be taken to avoid any electrolytic action between dissimilar metals. Under no
circumstances shall any copper cable or fitting be direct in contact with the galvanizing.
Sets and bends shall be sized to allow for the minimum permissible radius of the largest cable on
the tray. Cables shall retain their relative positions on bends and sweeps.
A minimum space shall be allowed between the tray and the structure to provide for securing the
cable and general maintenance.
Cable tray shall be carried on mild steel supports with suitable protective coating, fixed to the
structural at not more than 1.0m intervals, depending on cable tray thickness.
Cable trays shall be provided with standard stand and ventilated cover to protect cables from sun
radiation when installed outdoors and to protect cables form mechanical damage.
Before commencement of cable laying RFI shall be raised & approved for cable tray installation as
per approved ITP

7. HSE REQUIREMENT
During hot summer adequate water to be taken and whole body to be protected from direct
rays of sunlight
All vehicles and heavy equipement shall be inspected and declared accepted for work by the
Company.
Vehicle Movement during work site preparation should be restricted to specific route, and
unnecessary driving shall be avoided.
Assigned trinaed and 3rd party certified banksman to guide/ signal during heavy equipment
movement.
3rd party certified survey equipment (total station and cable detectors and etc. will be used.

Method statements and task risk assessment for all activities shall be in place and disscussed
with workers
All new members of the team shall undergo ADNOC medical prior to deployment at site.
Alll employees on site shall undergo the Company’s medical prior to deployment at site.
All lifting tools/shackles and equipment shall have third party valid certificates before use.
HSE compliance shall be ensured as per HSE plan and HSE procedures.
Workmen shall have all relevant mandatory and job specific PPE’s as minimum i.e. saftey
googles, safety helmet, shoes, dustmasks, and coveralls etc.
Certified first aider and first aid kit shall be available at site during execution.
A toolbox talk meeting shall be conducted by job performer to brief all concerned about the
DO’s and DON’T’s. Special coverage of salient points related to the undertaken job and risk
involed, includign course of action in case of emergency, shall be ensured during the session.
Drivers shall have relevant experience, valid UAE license and relevant “Company” approved
trainings . All operators shall posses 3rd party competency training certificates.
The cleared Worksite will be regularly mainted using water when necessary to damp down
dust and by passing a grader/ roller over it to minimize damage caused by traffic and
weather.
All work permits shall be available prior to commencing any work as required

Any other measure, as deemed necessary by the site conditions and the climatic conditions at
the time of execution shall be adopted to ensure safety of the public, property and the
environement.
Mulit-lingual sign boards shall be posted at appropriate locations, such as equipment site to
warn everybody of operations.
The inspection and test plan for Instrumentatio Construction Activity summarizes in detail the
various charaterstics to be checked and acceptance criteria againsst each charaterstics .
RFI shall be raised for all activities as per approved ITP (Inspection and Test Plan)
Contractor site, management, supervisors and inspectors shall closely supervise and monitor
all the phases of the work to ensure full compliance with agreed/approved procedures,
drawings and specification.
Contractor quality inspector shall have relevant quality control forms available during the
interventions for PMC / Company representatives to countersign and verifiy
agreement/disagreement with contractor inspection findings.
