1. Functions
1) To stop water splashing from the tires from intruding into the engine compartment.
2) To discharge heated air in the engine compartment efficiently.

2. Reliability target
7 Nissan has established reliability targets for the parts/systems which are set forth on the table below. However, typical failure modes on the table are based on
Nissan’s understanding of the expected possible failure modes of the parts/systems.
The supplier shall identify any possible failure modes of the parts/systems known to the supplier and report to Nissan Motor.
The supplier has the obligation to achieve all requirements that are described in the table below. (Incl. additional failure modes)

NOTE: Failure grade marks on the table above are symbol marks for reliability and durability targets and those used for evaluation.
*a)
Useful life target shall be applied to product that can have failures that may occur because of deterioration with time (corrosion, parking
temperature, etc.) while mileage target shall be applied to product that can have failures that may occur because of accumulated travel distance
(vibrations, engine temperatures, etc.).
*b)
The product reliability calculation is based on the assumption that every vehicle is utilized until the service life to assure expires.
