NO ANIMAL TESTING
In line with EU regulations, all products are tested on human volunteers,
not animals. Since 1997 we have also ensured that none of our
ingredients have been tested on animals.

NO SYNTHETIC PERFUMES OR COLOURS

We are proud that our formulations exclude synthetic perfumes and
colours. Instead we prefer to use the unique aromas of pure essential oils.
Colour is provided by the ingredients or natural inorganic minerals.

OUR ECO ETHICS

At MONU, we know there are lots of things that we still need to do
but we are trying everyday to fulfil our responsibilities to the planet.
Our drive to become a Carbon Neutral company is already
supported by our use of recyclable material supplied to our
stockists.

greenhouse gas emissions by committing to various initiatives:

All our glass, plastic and aluminium bottles and tubes are
recyclable. All our cartons are recyclable and are made from
bleach free board. We source all our paper products from
sustainable forests.

We source all our essential oils locally.

Monu Advanced
Skincare & Philosophy
Traditional skincare saw the use of soap-based cleansing followed by a rich moisturiser.
Soap can strip the skin of its natural acid mantle while an overly rich moisturiser can cause
skin to lose its ability to hydrate itself.
There is more of a focus on “cosmeceuticals” in modern skincare but active ingredients in
high doses can irritate the skin.
Advanced Skincare at Monu is different: it uses intelligent actives. The Monu cleansing
range contains actives in the correct concentrations to achieve maximum benefit with
minimum risk of irritation. The day & night care is designed to re-educate the skin so that
it starts to rehydrate itself, heal and restructure.
The sun protection range gives improved protection compared with traditional sunscreen
because it is synergistically formulated.

 Monu Formulations
Monu Advanced Skincare contains intelligent active
ingredients and it is these that can deliver dramatic
visible changes in the health and appearance of the skin.

Some of these actives are biotech (created in a lab)

others are phytoceutical (natural) substances. Either way,
they provide therapeutic benefits and are designed to
boost the skin’s ability to heal itself and recover from skin
conditions.

In order to ensure the active ingredients are going to

have a benefit, they must reach the skin tissue in a stable
and active form so they are formulated in synergy,
delivered in a high enough concentration to be effective
and kept airtight and away from the light. They should be
stored away from heat.

Monu Skincare occupies a leading position in the Skincare
Industry, as a result of continuous research based on the
latest international scientific data and implementation
thereof. This continuous upgrading is under the direct
supervision of Dr Colette Haydon.

Colette Haydon is a qualified doctor of pharmacy

and dermo-cosmetology (University of Lyon,
France). During her training and early career she
gained broad experience with the Institut
Merieux, L'Oreal/Lâncome and Laboratoires C.
Le Moult/Phyta.

After moving to the UK she worked for both

Biocosmetics and The Wellcome Foundation. Dr
Colette Haydon is an acknowledged specialist in
skin and cosmetic technology. She is a frequent
Dr Colette Haydon (FRiFC) contributor to glossies and beauty columns and a
member of the Society of Cosmetic Scientists. Her
laboratories are based in London where some of
the most prestigious UK skin care brands have
been formulated.
