Activity 1: Instructions: Please answer the questions in a 200 to 500-word-essay. Each answer may get a
maximum of 10 points each.
Question 1: In the Philippine political setup, what can you notice once a new administration takes over?
Does the new administration usually support the economic and nationalistic direction the former
administration up-holded? Please cite an example wherein the new administration supported OR opposed
the former administration; and briefly discuss its effects.
There are major political parties in the Philippines we have Philippine Democratic Party-People's
Power (PDP-Laban), Nationalist Party (NP), Nationalist People's Coalition (NPC), Liberal Party (LP),
and each of them have their candidate for a major position like for the position of president, senator, or a
majority house speaker, the more member of each party is being in positioned the easier their plan will
flow in the view of the fact no one will question their plan because they are allied. The good part of the
political system in the Philippines is that majority but not all of the plans of the old administration are still
being implemented by the new administration especially if those plans have a great benefit to the
improvement of the nation as well as the people living on it like for example between Aquino and Duterte
administration
The Aquino administration ended up on July 30, 2016, under the banner of the Liberal Party the
position was taken over by the Duterte administration under the banner of PDP-Laban. Some of the
efforts of the previous administration are being continued to flow by the current administration like for
the example, the 10 infrastructure projects approved during Aquino’s presidency are now being pursued
by Duterte under his Build, Build, Build program. These include Skyway Stage 3, NLEX-SLEX
Connector, LRT-2 East Extension extending the Light Rail Transit to Antipolo, and Mactan Cebu
International Airport’s New Passenger Terminal, the 4P’s program that started from ex-president Gloria
Arroyo and continued by Aquino and improves by Duterte. Duterte takes pride in having ensured the
passage of the Bangsamoro Organic Law and the creation of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in
Muslim Mindanao. But this achievement would not have been possible without foundations laid by
Aquino, but some of the activities of the Aquino administration are not being supported by the current
administration like the connection between the United State, during the Duterte’s Administration he
declared the economic and military separation from the USA. The action of the current administration
whether they will support or not the program that is not complete by the previous administration has an
effect on its people but the important thing is as long as it will benefit the whole the plan will continue no
matter what some plans are being terminated its because the administration looks them in a different
perspective and found some holes that will greatly affect the people in the future.

Question 2: What are the roles of your “representatives” in your respective organizations? What is the
importance of your mentioned roles in the advancement of your organization? What are the possible
consequences if your representatives will not be efficient in their roles? Please answer in 200 to 500-
word-essay.
The election is a process of choosing the leaders that will lead us to a worth living community,
whether it is the leader from school, barangay, or in a nation. In school, we have an organization that is
composed of major positions from the president to vice president to its secretary and the representative.
Representatives are chosen to represent the whole body of a specific group or faction to the meeting
of leaders, they are responsible to speak for them all, to reach what common people or students want to
say to the leaders, in our organization we have one represent she always informing us what is the agenda
or result of the meeting of the organization, sometimes if we have a side comment regarding the proposed
activity we reach our representative for her to be able to deliver our suggestion or comment. I found it a
vital role for an organization to work harmoniously if they have a representative to represent the voice of
common people also it will also be a great help for the leaders to know the pulse of the people about their
action or program for further improvement. But there are times that the elected representative are lost,
sometimes they lost their purpose why are they being chosen by the majority that leads to
miscommunication between the leaders and the common people, sometimes the essential information
about the meeting is being missed to disseminate that turn out being misinformed.
