The fictional character I most relate to is not just one character, but two.

I would be the
offspring of Harry Potter and Hermione Granger, if they had a child together. Like Harry, I come
from a difficult childhood, I have to face many obstacles in life, and I put everyone else’s needs
before my own. When it comes to Hermione, I am considered to be a motherly figure in my
group of friends, I absolutely love to read good books, and I am very intelligent. I am perfectly
split between these two characters.
The first set of similarities come from Harry Potter. Like Harry, I come from a rough
childhood. We were both physically, mentally, and emotionally abused by our guardians for most
of our childhood until we were “saved” by a significant male figure. However, we still face many
challenges everyday. It’s hard to fit in because of my past, so people look at me differently and
pity me. We try to escape our pasts and make ourselves better than those that raised us. This
inevitably leads us to putting everyone’s needs before our own, as to not get hurt again and be
acknowledged in a positive way. Our actions tend to break us down, but in the end we have the
necessary support and strength to help us continue in life.
The second set of similarities come from Hermione Granger. We are both strongly
viewed as a motherly type figure in our group of friends because of our need to control other
people’s actions and protect those close to us. Like Hermione, I could spend all day in a library
to read as much as I want, which becomes a sort of escape from reality. Most importantly is the
need we feel to focus our energy on our academics, which expands our knowledge and defines
us as intelligent. This gives us a certain authority that people come to recognize and respect,
and oftentimes ask for help.
All together, there is an uncanny resemblance that is exceptionally noted. We all have
Gryffindor qualities such as courage, chivalry, brave to the point of recklessness, and short
tempered. This is a solid way to describe me in today’s time. Although we have been put in the
center of many difficult challenges, we proceed to tackle them head on and lead ourselves to
victory. Lastly, we all have a great amount of love for animals that help us through tough times.
These are just a few of the similarities between Harry, Hermione and I.
There is no one character that I could relate to but Harry Potter and Hermione Granger. I
have had a tough beginning, yet I still emerge victorious like Harry. I have a love for books as
well as academics and I am viewed as more mature at my age than the average like Hermione.
The three of us have many qualities and traits that show we are similar. These are the fictional
characters I most relate to.
