LESSON Teaching
LOG Dates and
Time: FOUR TIMES PER WEEK Quarter: FOURTH QUARTER
MONDAY
(April 26, 2021)
I. OBJECTIVES Objective over the week and connected to the curriculum standards. To meet the
objectives, necessary procedures must be followed and if needed, additional lessons
exercises and remedial activities maybe done for developing content knowledge and
competencies. These are using Formatives Assessment Strategies. Valuing objectives
support the learning of content and competencies and enable children to find
significance and joy in learning the lesson. Weekly objectives shall be derived from
curriculum guide.
A. Content Standards: The learner demonstrates understanding of key concepts of measures of position.

B. Performance Standards: The learner is able to conduct systematically a mini-research applying the different
statistical methods.

C. Learning  Illustrates the following measures of position: quartiles, deciles and percentiles.
Competencies/Objectives: M10SP-IVa-1
Write the LC Code for each  Calculates a specified measure of position (e.g. 90th
percentile) of a set of data. M10SP-IVb-1
 Interprets measures of position. M10SP-IVc-1

Objectives:
A. Illustrate decile as a measure of position.
B. Compute decile of ungrouped data.
C. Interpret decile of ungrouped data.
II. CONTENT Decile of Ungrouped Data using Linear Interpolation
III. LEARNING RESOURCES
A. References
1. Teacher’s Guide Pages 328 – 330
2. Learner’s Materials 373 – 375
Pages
3. Textbook Pages
4. Additional Materials from PowerPoint Presentation, Laptop/Tablet

and  Quartile is the 3 scores which divide the data into 4 equal parts.
Practicing New Skills #1  ______ is the _____ score which _____ the data into ____ equal
parts.

E. Discussing New Concepts Aling Marie is a fish vendor in Salinas market. She sells tinapa and daing, her sales in
and the first 10 days in this year are listed below. Her average sale per day lies on the 4th
Practicing New Skills #2 decile.
360 520 300 440 460 540 560 580 620 200
a. Find the 4th decile
Solution:
1. First, arrange the scores in ascending order.
200 300 360 440 460 520 540 560 580 620
2. Find its D4 position, use the formula and round off to the nearest integer.
k
Position of Dk= (n+1) th
10
Wherein
k = unit partition
n= number of cases
4
Position of D4 = (n + 1)th
10
4
= (10 + 1)th
10
4
= (11)th
10
= 4.4th
The computed value is with decimal which is 4.4 so we need to do linear interpolation.
3. Interpolating/ locating the exact position of the score.
Step 1: subtract the 4th data from the 5th data
460 — 440 = 20
Step 2: multiply the result by the decimal part obtained in the second step (position of
2nd decile)
.4(20) = 8
Step 3: add the result in step 2 by the 3rd or smaller number/value
440+8 = 448
Value of 4th decile = 448
4. Interpreting the result
Aling Marie should be happy with her sale because 60% of her sale is above the
average sale.
F. Developing Mastery Analysis:

Assessment) a. fourth decile b. fifth decile

G. Finding Practical The height of grade 10 students was recorded in their physical education class.

Concepts and Skills in Daily 168 174 178 180
Living Find the value then interpret the result of:
1. D 3
2. D 7
H. Making Generalizations and Using the given statement below, verify if the following statement is TRUE or FALSE. If
Abstractions about the the given statement is TRUE, the students will sing and dance “TALA” if not they will
Lesson perform a Tongue Twister “May and Rey went to the bay to play, they found some hay
on their way to the bay”.
 The deciles are the nine score points which divide a distribution into ten equal
parts. They are deciles and are denoted as D1, D2, D3,…D9. They are
computed in the same way that the quartiles are calculated. The computed
value will be rounded off to the nearest integer.
 D1 –1% lies below it and 90% lies above it and D2 –2% lies below it and 80%
lies above it.

Application decile and 8thdecile of the given data. Prepare for a short presentation of your output in
or Remediation class.
V. REMARKS
VI. REFLECTION Reflect on your teaching and assess yourself as a teacher. Think about your
student’s progress this week. What works? What else needs to be done to help
the students learn?

additional Activities for
remediation
C. Did the remedial lessons
work? No. of learners who have
caught up with the lesson
D. No. of learners who continue
to require remediation
E. Which of my teaching
strategies work well? Why did
these work?
F. What difficulties did I
encounter which my principal or
supervisor can help me solve?
G. What innovations or localized
materials did I used/discover
which I wish to share with other
teachers?
