Questions about the video clip presented:

1. What was the video all about ?
2. Describe the physical features of cube?
3. Describe the physical features of rectangular prism?
4. Do the 3-dimensional objects occupy space?
5. What do we call the amount of space occupied
by a three-dimensional object?

Ask:
What do you think is our lesson today ?
B. DEVELOPMENT ACTIVITIES
1. Presentation (4 A’s)

ACTIVITY (Cooperative Learning)

Divide the class into two groups and give the activity. (5 MINUTES)
(Powerpoint Presentation)

Group 1

Given the measurement of dimension of a Cube. Draw this solid

figure with proper label of dimensions.

Cube
s = 10m

Group 2

Given the measurement of dimensions of a Rectangular Prism. Draw this

solid figure with proper label of dimensions.

Rectangular Prism
l = 6m
w= 2m
h = 3m

ANALYSIS

The Teacher will ask the pupils:

Ask each member of group 1

We have here a cube from group 1.
1. Identify the dimensions?
2. Identify the formula in measuring cube?
3. Show us the steps in measuring volume of cube?

Ask each member of group 2

We have here a rectangular prism from group 1.
1. Identify the dimensions?
2. Identify the formula in measuring rectangular prism? .
3. Show us the steps in measuring volume of rectangular prism?

ABSTRACTION

3-D SHAPES - means an object having three (3) dimensions.

An object that has length, width, height.

VOLUME - The amount of space occupied by a 3-dimensional object.

Formula in measuring volume of cube and rectangular prism.

APPLICATION

Group Activity
Measuring Volume

Say: Given a ruler (cm ruler), paper made cube and rectangular
prism find its volume. Use the formulas.
