    SOP for Cleaning, Operation & Calibration Of Hot Plate

    Apparatus

    1.0              OBJECTIVE

    To lay down the procedure for operation of Hot Plate Apparatus

    2.0              SCOPE

    This SOP shall be applicable to Hot Plate Apparatus used in QC Dept.

    3.0              RESPONSIBILITY
    3.1              Chemist QC and above shall be responsible for the preparation and execution of
    this SOP
    3.2              Sr. Chemist QC & above and QA Head shall be responsible for the checking and
    approval of this SOP.
    4.0              ACCOUNTABILITY

    Head QC

    5.2.3        Ensure that the instrument. Toggle switch shall be “ON”.

    5.2.4        Ensure that the line indicator bulb (red) shall glow.

    5.2.5        Ensure that set the “HEAT” knob shall be specified temperature.


    5.2.6        Ensure that the second indicator bulb (red) shall be stopped glowing when the
    hot Plate attains the set temperature.

    5.2.7        Ensure that the “HEAT” knob shall be rotated to “OFF” position, after heating
    the material.

     
    5.2.8        Ensure that the instrument Toggle switch shall be “OFF”.
    5.2.9        Ensure that the instrument main switch shall be “OFF”.

    5.2.10    Calibration Procedure

     Calibration of Hot plate apparatus shall be done by external party on an annual


    frequency
