    METHOD STATEMENT FOR BREAKING
    OF PILE CONCRETE

    1. PURPOSE

    The purpose of this Document is to detail the steps to be followed to ensure the breaking
    of excess concrete of pile above cut- off level by Hydraulic pile crusher or Pneumatic
    Rock beaker or Hydraulic Rock breaker. After breaking of pile head up to the required
    level, broken surface to be reprofiled by non sink mortar and vapour proof separation
    treatment shall be applied over top, side periphery area.

    2. SCOPE

    This activity covers for breaking of excess concrete of pile above the cut-off level.

    3. WORK PROCEDURE:-

    A. The excavation for pile cap shall be cleared around the pile to expose the external
    surface of pile concrete up to the cutoff level. The excavated materials shall be shifted
    by means of wheel loader.
    B. The exposed concrete of pile above the excavated level shall be broken by means of
    Pneumatic rock breaker or hydraulic pile crusher or hydraulic rock breaker attached to
    Excavator without damaging the reinforcement bar, from top of concrete.
    C. Maximum care shall be taken during the breaking process to see that the concrete is to
    be dismantled till the cutoff level mentioned in AFC drawings.
    D. The breaking of pile shall be carried without disturbing the Stability/Integrity of the
    pile.
    E. After completion of breaking, pile head shall be cleaned properly.

    4. HEALTH, SAFETY AND ENVIRONMENT:-

    All Health, Safety and Environment system will be implemented and maintained at the
    work site as per our HSE plan.
