Theme: The Word leads to the WAY the TRUTH and the LIFE

Verse: John 14:6, "Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one
comes to the Father except through me.”

INTRODUCTION:

• Sa pagtatapos ng ating series topic this Sunday, we thank the Lord because
truly we are blessed to have this kind of celebration that honors HIS WORD.
• As John 14:6 says, We have learned to examine which WAY we are following,
and what Truth we need to believe on.
• We found out that the answer is always JESUS.
• Jesus is the source of life.
• Just as water is essential for our physical life, Jeremiah points to the Lord as
the Essential Source of our Spiritual Life.
• The prophet contrasts trusting the Lord with the folly of turning away from the
Lord or putting any confidence in the flesh:
• Jeremiah 17:5 says, “This is what the LORD says: “Cursed are those who put
their trust in mere humans, who rely on human strength and turn their hearts
away from the LORD.”
• There is an occasion in the bible that many people followed Jesus.

John 6:25-40
Jesus the Bread of Life

25
When they found him on the other side of the lake, they asked him, “Rabbi, when did
you get here?”

26
Jesus answered, “Very truly I tell you, you are looking for me, not because you saw the
signs I performed but because you ate the loaves and had your fill. 27 Do not work for
food that spoils, but for food that endures to eternal life, which the Son of Man will give
you. For on him God the Father has placed his seal of approval.”

28
Then they asked him, “What must we do to do the works God requires?”

29
Jesus answered, “The work of God is this: to believe in the one he has sent.”
30
So they asked him, “What sign then will you give that we may see it and believe
you? What will you do? 31 Our ancestors ate the manna in the wilderness; as it is written:
‘He gave them bread from heaven to eat.’[a]”

32
Jesus said to them, “Very truly I tell you, it is not Moses who has given you the bread
from heaven, but it is my Father who gives you the true bread from heaven. 33 For the
bread of God is the bread that comes down from heaven and gives life to the world.”

34
“Sir,” they said, “always give us this bread.”

35
Then Jesus declared, “I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never go
hungry, and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty. 36 But as I told you, you
have seen me and still you do not believe. 37 All those the Father gives me will come
to me, and whoever comes to me I will never drive away. 38 For I have come down from
heaven not to do my will but to do the will of him who sent me. 39 And this is the will of
him who sent me, that I shall lose none of all those he has given me, but raise them up
at the last day. 40 For my Father’s will is that everyone who looks to the Son and believes
in him shall have eternal life, and I will raise them up at the last day.”

• People followed Jesus with a wrong motive.

• They wanted to JUST satisfy their physical body. People that time look for
physical food only.
• But Jesus is actually hoping and teaching them, na sana maintindihan nila yung
Kanyang mga sinasabi na, “what He will give and what he is offering is more than
just food for physical nor to satisfy the physical but Jesus wanted them to grasp
and understand in their own heart na IN HIM, there is LIFE. In HIM there is
ETERNAL LIFE.
• Yes. Mahalaga ang physical food because that is our means for survival pero we
NEED TO UNDERSTAND THAT, there is much more ESSENTIAL, MUCH MORE
IMPORTANT than just physical at ito yung ating SPIRITUAL.
• And take not, our spiritual will not and cannot be filled by the Physical, or
by any other means but by JESUS ALONE who is the GIVER OF LIFE.
• People that time having hard time to understand what Jesus is telling about and
they still insisting what their mind can understand.
• They missed the central message of Christ.
• And You know, brother and sisters in Christ.. Pwede rin nating ma-MISS and
mga nais nang Diyos na ipaunawa sa atin.. In what way?
• When we also gives much more time and importance to JUST A
SATISFACTION OF THE PHYSICAL and we neglect to invest time in taking
care of our spiritual through READING HIS WORD, PRAYING TO GOD, and
WALKING WITH GOD EVERYDAY.

SIX CHARACTERISTICS OF JESUS AS THE SOURCE OF OUR

SPIRITUAL LIFE

JESUS IS..

I. AUTHENTIC SOURCE OF SPIRITUAL LIFE

• When we say authentic, “Genuine; exclusive; unique.”

• Some of the verses that will help us to understand this are:

Mga Awit 37:4-5

4 Kay Yahweh mo hanapin ang kaligayahan, at ang pangarap mo'y iyong
makakamtan. Ang iyong sarili'y sa kanya italaga, tutulungang ganap kapag
ika'y nagtiwala.

Proverbs 14:12
There is a way that seems right to a man, But its end is the way of death.

• The truth is, there are many counterfeits in this world na it seems nag
ooffer na kapag meron ka nito, liligaya kay, your will be satisfied, etc.
• Maraming tao through their testimony na inuna ang sarili, inuna ang
mga pangarap at iniwan ang Diyos pero in the end, “not satisfied” or
“not successful” then what will happen? Babalik din kay Lord sa huli.
• We need to learn from the past. We need to learn from their
experiences and testimonies.
• Do not overuse nor used God’s assurance with the wrong context
(Testimony)

JESUS IS..

II. AVAILABLE (ACCESSIBLE) SOURCE OF SPIRITUAL LIFE

• We are commanded to come to the waters and freely drink.
• John 4:10 “If you knew the gift of God, and who it is who says to you,
