The Associate Safety Professional (ASP) & Certified Safety Professional (CSP) are certifications offered by the Board
of Certified Safety Professionals (BCSP) USA. The ASP is a mid-level certification that fulfills the credential requirement
leading to the CSP. Whereas CSP is known as the GOLD standard in the field of safety.
To be eligible for CSP, candidates should have 1. A minimum of a bachelor's degree | 2. Four years of safety experience |
3. A BCSP-Approved Credential (Not Required for ASP)
All individuals applying for the ASP/CSP must have at least 4 years of bachelor's degree in any discipline.
Please note: There is no waiver of the academic requirement and proof of a minimum qualifying degree must be uploaded
directly to BCSP. BA Two Years o 14/15 Years Graduation is not acceptable even if you are having NEBOSH Idip or
CMIOSH.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT
CSP Candidates must have four (4) years of professional safety experience, whereas ASP candidates must have one (1)
year of professional safety experience.
To apply for the CSP you should have QUALIFIED CREDENTIAL REQUIREMENTS such as GSP or TSP or CIH® or
CMIOSH or CRSP or NEBOSH Diploma, etc. There is a full list of QUALIFIED CREDENTIALs on the BCSP website.

ABOUT THE ASP & CSP FEES PAID TO BCSP* BY THE DELEGATE
ASP & CSP RECERTIFICATION REQUIRED: Every five (5) years. And You must pay BCSP Annual fees for
ASP/CSP until you wish to continue the credential
ABOUT THE ASP & CSP EXAMINATION: The CSP examination contains 200 multiple-choice with four (4)
possible answers and only one (1) correct answer., 5.5 hours, closed book, the whole year through Pearson VUE centers
worldwide. The ASP examination is the same only time allowed is 5 hours.
WHEN AND WHERE IT IS TAKEN: After you have paid for your exam, it's time to schedule it. You will have one
year in which to schedule and pass your exam before your application expires. The exam is scheduled through Pearson
VUE year-round. Pearson has testing locations worldwide. Choose a date, time, and place that is convenient for you. If
you should need to reschedule or cancel your exam appointment, make sure to do so no later than 48 hours.
