4A’s Semi- Detailed Lesson Plan in MAPEH (Physical Education)

Content Standard: The learner demonstrates understanding of the basic principles


and ideas of the game domino that promote good family relationship.

Performance Standard: The learner engages in a domino mini-tournament.

Objectives:

At the end of the lesson, the student can be able to;

1. Discuss the nature/background of the game domino;

2. Explain the health and fitness benefit that the family can derive from
playing dominos;

3. Appreciate indoor recreational activity like domino with their friends;

4. Execute basic skills and tactics in domino; and;

5. Apply appropriate rules and regulations in domino.

I. Subject Matter

a. Topic: Domino
b. Reference: Grade 8 Physical Education and Health Learner's
Module , pp.136-148
c. Duration: 1 hr.
d. Grade Level of Students: Grade 8
e. Instructional Materials: Laptop, PowerPoint Presentation, Book, and
Dominoes.

ACTIVITY

Task I. FILL ME!


INSTRUCTION: The teacher will provide fill in the blanks words and all
you need to do is to fill in the missing letters.
ANALYSIS

 The teacher will introduce the topic of the day.


 The teacher will let the students read the objectives.
 The teacher will discuss the background of the Domino.
 The teacher will discuss the benefits of playing domino.
 The teacher will discuss the steps and tips in playing domino.
QUESTIONS:

 Did you ever play domino?


 What is the other term/word for domino?
 Give at least one of the benefits of domino?
 What are the strategies in playing domino?

ABSTRACTION
Task II. Sharing Time!
Instruction: Share with the class, your friends, or relatives your ideas about the
value of playing domino. Be guided by the following questions. Write your answers in
your notebook.
Supplementary Questions:

 How can you feel about playing recreational game like domino?
 Would you encourage your family members to play domino? Why?
 Is playing domino considered a good recreational activity which
fosters good social relationship?
 Can you think of other activities which can be paired with domino to
make a game more exciting?
APPLICATION

Let’s Play!

This activity provides you a chance to show everyone that you can play
domino with an opponent. Your teacher will ask you to pair with your
classmates in a match of domino.
You will be assessed using the following scale:

Performance Assessment: Mini-domino Tournament
After you have mastered playing domino with your classmates, you are
now ready to compete in a mini-tournament. This time, your performance will be
ranked based on your score garnered during the tournament.
A game will be composed of 4-6 players.

ASSIGNMENT

MAKE YOUR OWN DOMINO


The students will make 28 domino cards using illustration board or
cartolina. Use a pen or marker to draw dots. The 28 domino cards will look
like the following illustration.
