LEARNING STANDARDS
M At the end of the lesson, most pupils will be able to name clothes mentioned in the dialogue.
C At the end of the lesson, most pupils will be able to spell cloth words with support.
At the end of the lesson, most pupils will be able to name at least 2 clothes mentioned in the dialogue.
SC At the end of the lesson, most pupils will be able to spell at least 2 cloth words with support.
1. Put a few clothes in a box and ask the pupils to sit in a circle. (e.g. cap, t-shirt, socks)
2. Play the music and pupils pass the box around.
I. PRE-LESSON 3. When the music stops, the person who holds the box will take out one cloth, show it to the
class and name it. If pupil name the cloth correctly, he/she gets to wear the cloth. If he/she
name it wrongly, he/she needs to put the cloth bag into the box.
1. Display a dialogue chart on the board.
2. Read the dialogues – you can ask more proficient pupils to take different parts or you could
use puppets or similar to take on different roles.
3. Get the pupils to read the dialogue as a class.
4. Pupils practise the dialogue in pairs.
II. LESSON
5. Ask pupils to name the clothes mentioned in the dialogue.
DEVELOPMENT
6. Write pupils’ responses on the board in bubble map form.
7. Explain the activity to the pupils.
8. Distribute worksheets. Pupils draw a picture of the characters in the dialogue. Then, they
label the clothes that the characters like.
9. Go around the class to check and help. Pupils may refer to their student’s book if necessary.
1. Invite volunteers to present their work.
III. POST LESSON 2. Display pupils’ work on the wall.
3. Conduct gallery walk.
