PREAMBLE:
Industry has a curious relationship with the environment. Rapid industrialization coupled with uncontrolled
exploitation of natural resources has affected the environment, by ultimate changes in the natural cycle,
causing impact and /or effects on air, water, land, flora, fauna, human settlement, and health of people.
The course provides an understanding on ESG specific topics such as disclosure indices, materiality
assessments, UN-SDGs, and other associated sustainability initiatives, GRI standards, sustainability
reporting in CDP disclosures, Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emissions (Scope-1, 2, and 3), water consumption,
waste footprint baseline, ESG strategy in supply chain and maritime industry and corporate EHS &
Sustainability strategies & goals.
Environmental management techniques are integral to conservation, agriculture, forestry, industry and
countryside planning. This certificate course is designed for people already in environment-related
employment, who wish to develop their careers by updating their knowledge and skills. It aims to satisfy an
industrial and public sector demand for environmental management personnel.
