LESSON PLAN IN MAPEH 10

Health 10

I. OBJECTIVES
Within one hour of teacher-student interaction, the students shall:
a. Enumerate four laws in the Philippines that are related to health
b. Appreciate the republic acts by planning on applying it in their daily lives
and in their families and community
c. Perform actions which may help them remember the six laws.

II. SUBJECT MATTER: Health Trends, Issues, Concerns in the National level
SUBTOPIC: Consumer and Reproductive Health, and Substance Use
and Abuse
REFERENCES: K12 DepEd Health, Teacher’s Guide, pp. 233 - 242
MATERIALS: Book, Chalk, Chalkboard, Pictures (visual aids)
Laptop and speakers with different videos of news

Ok, goodmorning Class! Good morning Sir!

Before we start our learning, can (Student) (Prayer)

B. LESSON PROPER

So for today’s lesson, we will talk about (Students listen)


the different health issues, concerns, and
trends in the national level. These issues,
concerns, and trends have been
addressed by our government by creating
such laws which are the Republic Acts.

For today, we will tackle two of these (Students listen and ask questions)
issues or concerns. First of is the
Consumer Health Issues. We have the RA
7394 or the Consumer Health Act and RA
8423 or the Traditional and Alternative
Medicine Act which both laws
A. Protect the interest of the consumer
B. Promote his/her general welfare
C. Establish Standards of conduct for
business and industry

Another Issue is from the Reproductive (Students listen and ask questions)
Health. The RA 10354 or the Responsible
Parenthood and Reproductive Health Act.
Which is the controversial RH Bill back in
2009. In this law, Reproductive health is
defined as a state of physical, mental, and
social well-being in all matters relating to
the reproductive system, at all stages of
life.

And has Four Pillars of Foundation (Students listen and ask questions)
A. Informed Choice – Government should
also promote and provide unbiased
information and accessed to the these
services.
B. Respect For Life – abortion is illegal
and punishable by law.
C. Birth Control – Reproductive
healthcare, information, and supplies shall
be made available most especially to poor
beneficiaries.
D. Responsible Parenthood – Couples
determine their ideal family size.

So last is the Philippines AIDS Prevention (Students listen and ask questions)
and Control Act, RA 8504. This law
•Promulgates policies and prescribing
measures for the prevention and control of
HIV/AIDS in the Philippines
•Instituting a nationwide HIV/AIDS
information and educational program
•Establishing a comprehensive HIV/AIDS
monitoring system
•Strengthening the Philippine National
AIDS Council
•Education and information dissemination
in various institutions and agencies
•Safe practice and procedures (testing,
screening, and counseling) in health
organizations and associations, monitoring
of cases with confidentiality
•Programs for anti-discriminatory acts (in
the workplace, hospitals, and other public
institutions)

B. APPLICATION
1. So can someone give me the two laws concerning Consumer Health?
2. Can you also give a brief definition what are the laws about?
3. How about someone who can enumerate and describe the two laws concerning
Reproductive Health?

IV. EVALUATION
Give a True or False type examination to assess the understanding of the
students.
V. ASSIGNMENT
A. Write in your notebook two (2) laws concerning Substance Use and Abuse
which are found in the references of our lesson.
