4. FIRSTAID MEASURE
EYES : Flush eyes immediately with fresh water for several minutes while holding the eyelids open.
SKIN : Wash skin thoroughly with soap and water.
INGESTION : If swallowed and person.is conscious, give water or milk. DON’T make person vomit
except on
advice of medical personnel. If advice cannot be obtained, take person and container to nearest
emergency treatment center. Never give anyttring by mouth to an unconscious person.
INHALATION :This material is not expected to be an acute inhalation problem under typical
Applications.
ADVICE TO DOCTOR : High-pressure equipment can cause small, often bloodless, puncture wounds
where material may have been injected deep into the extremity. Within 24 hours, there is usually
extensive swelling discoloration and intense pain in the affected part. Requires immediate treatment at
a surgical emergency center, else disfigurement or amputation of the affected part may occur.
TEAKAGE PROCEDURES : Do not touch damaged containers or spilled material unless wearing
appropriate protective equipment" Slipping hazard; do not walk through spilled material. Stop leak if
you can do so without risk. For small spills, absorb or cover with dry earth, sand, or other ineft non-
combustible absorbent material
and place into waste containers for later disposal. Contain large spills to maximize product recovery Or
disposal. Prevent entry into waterways or sewers. In urban area, cleanup spill as soon as possible. ln
natural
environments, seek cleanup advice from specialists to minimize physical habitat damage. This material
will float on water. Absorbent pads and similar materials can be used. Comply with all laws and
regulations.
HANDTING : If this product is stored or applied in high-pressure systems such as grease guns or
hydraulic lines, there is the potential for accidental injection into the skin and underlying tissues.
Hydrocarbons injected into skin or underlying tissues are not readily removed.by body fluids and can
cause pain, swelling chemical irritation, infection and tissue destruction. Early symptoms may be
minimal. Workers must be aware of the significant hazards associated with a hydrocarbon injection
injury. In the event of an injection injury, workers should seek medical treatment immediately. Avoid
water contamination and elevated temperatures to minimize product degradation. Empty containers
may contain product residues that can ignite with explosive force. Do not pressurize, cut, weld, braze
solder, drill, grind or expose containers to flames, sparks, heat or other potential ignition sources.
Consult appropriate federal, state and local authorities before reusing, reconditioning, reclaiming
recycling or disposing of empty containers and/or waste residues of this product.
STORAGE : Keep container closed. Do not store with strong oxidizing agents. Do not store at elevated
temperatures. Avoid storing product in direct sunlight for extended periods of time. Consult
appropriate federal, state and local authorities before reusing, reconditioning, reclaiming, recycling
disposing of empty containers or waste residues of this product
8. EXPOSURE CONTROL / PERSONAI PROTECTTON
EYES : Avoid eye contact The wearing of chemical safety goggles or face shield is recommended.
SKIN : Avoid contact with skin or clothing. Wearing impervious protective clothing including gloves
can minimize skin contact. Protective clothing made from neoprene, nitrile, or n-butyl rubber is
suitable in these applications.
Exposed employees should exercise reasonable personal cleanliness; this includes cleansing exposed
skin several times daily with soap and water, and laundering or dry cleaning soiled work clothing at
least weekly.
INHATATION None required when handling at minimum feasible temperatures.
VENTILATION No special ventilation is usually necessary. However, if operating conditions create
high airborne concentrations of this material, engineering controls may be needed. Local exhaust
ventilation and/or enclosure of the process is preferred in these cases.
EXPOSURE IIMITS Due to possible carcinogenic effect, exposure should be reduced to the lowest
feasible level.
10. STABILITY&REACTIVITY
Injection of pressurized hydrocarbons under the skin, in muscle or into the blood stream can cause
irritation, inflammation, swelling, fever and mild central nervous system depression. Injection of
pressurized hydrocarbons can cause severe, permanent tissue damage.
ENVIRONMENTAL EFFECTS : No specific eco toxicity data on this product are available.
