Message from the
Principal’s Desk
I am thrilled to announce that NPS HSR will be
hosting Model United Nations (MUN) event this
year on June 27 and 28. The Model United Nations
is not just a simulation; it is an invaluable
opportunity for our students to engage in critical
thinking, diplomacy, and collaboration as they
tackle some of the most pressing global issues
facing our world today.
This year's NPSHMUN promises to be an enriching experience, where
students will have the chance to step into the shoes of diplomats,
representing various countries and debating solutions to complex
international challenges. Through this immersive experience, participants
will develop essential skills such as negotiation, public speaking, and
consensus-building, which are crucial for success in the global arena.
I look forward to witnessing the passion, intellect, and diplomacy that will
be on display during the Model United Nations event. Let us come together
as a community to celebrate the power of dialogue, diplomacy, and global
citizenship.
Best wishes for a successful and enriching MUN conference!
Warm regards,
Shefali Tyagi

Message from the
Secretary-General
"He will win who knows when to fight and when not to fight."
~ Sun Tzu, The Art of War
Diplomacy. A plain, 9-lettered word, yet an
ingrained, almost inevitable part of the human
psyche. A word often overlooked in the hustle of
our lives whilst continuing to remain a practice
used by billions. There is no place where diplomacy
doesn't exist. Diplomacy thrives in war and
flourishes in peace. It becomes ever-more
important in our world, where our societies are
growing while countries are splintering.
However, at the cusp of my fortieth Model United Nations, I appear to find
that this conference extends much farther than diplomacy. I rest assured
that you, the reader, are well acquainted with the benefits of this one-of-
the-kind emulation of the United Nations. Hence, rather than wasting the
few words I am constrained to, I would briefly mention the importance of
participation. Undoubtedly cliche, yet deceptively important as well. From
my perspective, there is no victory greater than participation. Victories
may come and go, but your experience remains.
That is why, dear delegates, I urge you to make the leap, participate and
give it your all.
Regards,
Tannmay Kumarr Baid
Secretary-General

cultivate essential diplomatic skills.

Agenda
Methods to Prevent and Terminate the Proliferation of SALWs in
the Sahel Region of Africa.
SALWs are small arms and light weapons. Due to their small size and
illegal routes of movement, they are widespread in the Sahel region of
Africa, resulting in a huge rise in violent crime and rampant use of these
weapons. This committee aims to find solutions to control and terminate
their proliferation and usage using the various tools in the hands of the
DISEC.
