Software Engineer
Job Summary:

We are Telular – IoT for Tanks, Trucks, Alarm Systems, and other Industrial
applications.
This is an outstanding growth opportunity. The software engineer will innovate, design,
and develop cutting-edge products as a member of a fun and innovative team that
makes a real difference by delivering products are used as part of daily operations. You
will play a role in implementation and development of Telular’s IoT platform using your
deep knowledge of cloud-based software services on AWS.
We are a business unit of AMETEK and a technology leader in IoT solutions for the
commercial telematics, and security alarm and fire alarm markets, with SkyBitz and
Telguard businesses. For over thirty years we have made smarter connections for our
customers. By combining wireless technologies, purpose-built devices, and SaaS
commercial offerings, we have been a disruptive force in the IoT market.
Key responsibilities include:
 Implement and support secure cloud-based software services.

 Understand and implement platform services based on functional, technical and
user requirements.
 Create, update, and maintain automated deployment pipeline.
 Drive improvement of operational efficiency through automation and/or process
changes.
 Understanding of agile software development and DevOps best practices.
 Consult with leadership and other engineers to set goals, plan projects, build
timelines, stay within budget, and support organizational objectives.
 Understand and demonstrate the use of agile methodologies and DevOps best
practices across engineering.
 Look for ways to automate our testing processes, both unit and system
integration testing to improve our time to market.
 Identify and recommend software tools and components that maximize the
Engineering team’s effectiveness.
Qualifications:
 Practical application of AWS technologies including but not limited to EC2, S3,
relational databases, and MSK.
 A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering or Computer Science.
 8+ years of experience in software development using Java or C#.

 Knowledge of AWS elements that would be leveraged in a very high-
performance transactional system.
 Experience with object-oriented development (OOD) and service-oriented
architectures (SOA).
 Experience working in an Agile Scrum environment.
 Demonstrable ability to own and deliver projects and results of increasing
technical complexity.
 Demonstrable ability to analyze problems, diagnose root cause, and apply
corrective actions.
 Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Other Beneficial Skills:
 Experience is M2M/IIoT industry

 Worked with automated deployment tools like Jenkins and Octopus Deploy.
 Experience with IoT connectivity protocols like MQTT, CoAP, or LWM2M.
 Experience with EC2, S3, Kafka, and extracting data from data stores to provide
APIs to external parties.
 Conceptual or practical knowledge of Multithreading
 Octopus Deploy and VSTS
 Kubernetes and Docker Container experience on Azure
