    A sudden event or a natural
    catastrophic that cause great
    damage to infastructures,
    economical status and agricultural
    aspect of a country.

     Act of gods to punish mankind


     Unforeseen event like death,
    misfortune, destruction of livelihood.
     1950’s onward that the scientific study
    of disaster and risk commence.

    Physical perspective
     disaster is a phenomenon that can cause damage to physical
    elements such as buildings, infrastructures, including people and
    their properties, e.g. houses & environmental sources of living.

    Include state of mental capacity and health, perception of self

     Emotional effects-shock, terror, grief, loss of pleasure derived from
    material activities, difficulty of feeling love.

     Cognitive effects-impaired concentration, memory impairment,


    nightmares, self-blame, disbelief, decreased self-esteem and confusion.

     Physical effects-fatigue, exhaustion, insomnia, cardiovascular strain,


    hyper arousal, reduced immune system, headaches, startle response.

     Interpersonal effects-social withdrawal, alienation, impaired work


    performance, distrust, feeling abandoned.

    Socio-cultural Perspective
    it include religion, social status, tradition perception by
    society
    Economic Perspective
     include assets and liabilities, income, economic class.

    Political Perspective
     Include negative assets and liabilities, income, economic class,
    employment.

    Biological perspective
     Include flora and fauna in environment, health, diseases, etc.

     Disaster risk is defined as “the potential lost of
    life, injury, or destroyed or damaged assets
    which occur to a system society or a community in
    a specific period of time determine

    and capacity
