    Thor: Ragnarok is a 2017 American superhero film directed by
    Marvel Studios and distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion
    Pictures, based on the Marvel Comics character Thor. It is the 17th
    film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and the sequel to Thor
    (2011) and Thor: The Dark World (2013). (MCU).
    FILM POSTER
    BRIEF PLOT OF THE FILM
    Two years after the battle of Sokovia, Thor is imprisoned by the fire
    demon Surtur, who reveals that Thor's father Odin is no longer on
    Asgard. He explains that the realm will soon be destroyed during the
    prophesied Ragnarok, once Surtur unites his crown with the Eternal
    Flame that burns in Odin's vault. Thor frees himself, defeats Surtur and
    takes his crown, believing he has prevented Ragnarok. Imprisoned on
    the other side of the universe, the mighty Thor finds himself in a deadly
    gladiatorial contest that pits him against the Hulk, his former ally and
    fellow Avenger. Thor's quest for survival leads him in a race against time
    to prevent the all-powerful Hela from destroying his home world and the
    Asgardian civilization.
