INTRODUCCIÓN :
In this four guide, students become familiar with the topic, the vocabulary and the
communicative activity which make up the learning process. You will find grammar
structure in an inductive manner, which help to students, as an instrumental knowledge in
the elaboration their activities.
¿Qué voy a aprender?

PAST SIMPLE: STATEMENTS
USE: To talk about past events and actions.
AFFIRMATIVE
FORM: Regular verbs in the Past Simple end in -ed.
[SUBJECT + VERB + ed + REST]
EXAMPLES:
"Joe walked home alone last night."

"We played football last week."
SPELLING
Verbs ending in -e, take only -d: live/lived.

With verbs ending in consonant +(y), change the (y) to (i):

NOTE: Past Simple is often used with adverbs:

Yesterday, Last week/month/year, A ... ago.
REGULAR VERBS IRREGULAR VERBS

para formar el pasado agregamos ed al tienen su propio pasado y los encontramos
verbo. en la lista de verbos irregulares en el

si el verbo termina en e, solo agrego d. do did hacer
live lived vivir go went ir
si termina en y precedida por consonante, write wrote escribir
se cambia la y por i, y agregamos ed swim swam nadar
copy copied copiar speak spoke hablar

Observa el ejemplo y escriba oraciones similares en pasado simple con la traducción. Utiliza
los siguientes verbos.

NOTE: En oraciones negativas, el verbo lo escribo en su forma base, es decir en

presente.
EXAMPLES: She did not live in Bogota last year
Ella no vivió en Bogotá el año pasado
Ejercicios del pasado simple negativo

 I studied at Concordia University, in Montreal. I did not (didn't) study at Concordia
University, in Montreal.
 My family celebrated Thanksgiving day last year. My family did not (didn't)
celebrate Thanksgiving day last year.
 After work we went to Simon's birthday party.

NOTA: No olvide que en las oraciones negativas utilizamos ( did not o didn`t ) para negar, y
el verbo lo escribo en presente.
