A player uses the "Signal" option on the whistle, calling over a quetzal to fly them.
An enhanced quetzal whistle is a teleportation item that takes players to the entrance of the Hunter Guild, right next to the Quetzal Transport System landing site. It cannot be used beyond level 20 Wilderness.
The whistle is made via the right-click "Craft" option on an enhanced quetzal whistle blueprint, whilst having a basic quetzal whistle, yew logs, and a knife in the inventory. The blueprints can be obtained from hunters' loot sacks or purchased from other players; players who have completed 100 Hunters' Rumours without ever getting an enhanced whistle blueprint will receive an untradeable torn variant from their next hunters' loot sack to be used in crafting the whistle for themselves.
The enhanced whistle can hold up to 20 charges, but can be upgraded to a perfected quetzal whistle, which holds up to 50. The "Check" option will display a message containing the whistle's remaining charges, ex. Your quetzal whistle has 4 charges remaining.remaining. Lastly, the "Rumour" option on the whistle will remind players of their active rumour, ex. Your current rumour target is a grey chinchompa. You'll need to bring back some of its fur. Cervus was the source of the rumour..
Quetzal whistles are charged by bringing the whistle, alongside certain raw meats from hunter creatures or Quetzal feed to Soar Leader Pitri. The amount of charges provided are dependent on the type of meat given. Additionally, the raw meat must be present in the player's inventory, not as banknotes or stored in meat pouches.
While players can have multiple quetzal whistles in their inventory, only the first whistle will be charged. Additionally, recharging will use raw meat until the whistle is fully charged; any charges beyond the maximum capacity of the whistle will be lost.
