Vermyx, Brood Mother is the first boss encounter in the Sanctum of Rebirth.

She is an ancient wyrm from the Third Age, and prowled the sands of the Kharidian Desert with her large brood before being enthralled to serve as a soul devourer to Amascut. Now imprisoned in the Sanctum of Rebirth, Vermyx, Brood Mother and her brood lurk in the sanctum, waiting for the occasional prey to devour.

Update history[edit | edit source]

This information has been compiled as part of the update history project. Some updates may not be included – see here for how to help out!
  • patch 5 August 2024 (Update):
    • Fixed an issue where the moonstone shards within the Sanctum of Rebirth would retaliate when attacked.
    • Improved the clean up time for moonstone shards within the Sanctum of Rebirth to allow for much smoother movement when traversing the environments.
    • Following feedback, implemented the following changes to the Vermyx boss encounter within the Sanctum of Rebirth:
      • When we would spawn Coilspawn as part of the bosses rotation in hard mode, we now only spawn 2. This occurs at the end of Vermyx's ability rotation.
      • Phasing
        • Note: Hard mode still begins with 4 Coilspawn alive.
        • Amended the target marker that appears during phasing.
        • Removed one of the Coilspawn that spawns during phase transition.
        • The 'Channels power from the Sanctum towards the west/east' message is only shown once per phase.
        • Amended the above messaging to be more specific.
        • During phase transition, the northwest and northeast Coilspawn are only spawned once, so if you manage to kill it, this will give you a bit of safe space to work with.
          • If you kill the coilspawn in the above location, the souls will spawn faster on the next rotation.
          • Note: Depending on when you kill it; this might not occur until the next rotation.
          • Souls spawn 1.2s earlier in hard mode.
      • Soul bomb
        • Attacks the area below the players feet instead of following the player.
        • Deals AoE damage (3x3)
        • Telegraphing has been added to indicate the area of effect.
  • patch 29 July 2024 (Update):
    • Accuracy Fix: Corrected accuracy miscalculation and adjusted defence values for Sanctum of Rebirth bosses to maintain hit chance balance.
      • Defence level lowered from 100 to 85.
      • Armour lowered from 3100 to 2178.
    • Vermyx: Reflected souls are counted correctly now when they spawned on the same tile.
