A player wearing the blacksmith's armour set

The blacksmith's outfit is a Smithing experience-boosting set obtained at the Artisans' Workshop in Falador.

Obtaining[edit | edit source]

Pieces can be purchased for 50% respect each from Egil in the Artisans' Workshop Reward Shop. The full set costs 300% respect (250% for the five wearable pieces and an additional 50% for the blacksmith's helmet add-on).

Pieces can also be obtained while smithing ceremonial swords in the workshop. There is a 1/25 chance to receive part of the outfit from making a perfect sword and a 1/100 chance from all others.[1] The helmet add-on can be obtained in this way.

When obtaining an outfit piece from ceremonial sword smithing, the following message appears in the chatbox:

As an extra reward for completing this sword, you're also awarded with a piece of the Blacksmith's outfit.

If any piece is destroyed or lost on death, it can be reclaimed from Diango in the Draynor Village marketplace, Ianto in the Tower of Voices in Prifddinas, Azibo in the Merchant district of Menaphos, through a bank's holiday outfit retrieval interface, or from a toy box in a player-owned house.

Outfit benefits[edit | edit source]

Each piece equipped provides a 1% experience boost to Smithing. When all five pieces are worn there is an additional 1% set bonus which gives a total experience boost of 6%.

Item XP boost
Blacksmith's helmet 1%
Blacksmith's top 1%
Blacksmith's apron 1%
Blacksmith's gloves 1%
Blacksmith's boots 1%
Sub-total 5%
Set bonus 1%
Full set 6%
Wearing smelting gauntlets provides the same effect as the gloves (if owned) in the set; the top in the set provides the effect of Varrock armour.

The blacksmith's top provides the same effects as the highest tier of Varrock armour owned by the player, and the blacksmith's gloves provide the same effect as the smelting gauntlets if owned. However, the blacksmith's apron does not give the effects of Morytania legs 2.

Players can obtain a modified blacksmith's helmet by using a blacksmith's helmet add-on on their blacksmith's helmet. In addition to the 1% experience boost provided by the base helmet, the modified helmet provides the following benefits:

  • 3 daily teleports to the Artisans' Workshop
  • 30-50 noted coal per day (more coal is provided if 4 or more pieces of the outfit are owned)
  • +5% chance for double bars when smelting (excluding masterwork alloy bars)
