A hydrix is a gem made by cutting an uncut hydrix with a chisel at level 79 Crafting, giving 197.5 experience. It is used with a gold bar to make hydrix jewellery at a furnace, currently the most powerful jewellery in the game.

It can also be cut further into hydrix bolt tips, but it is not recommended as this would result in a massive loss; hydrix bolt tips are easily obtained from drops and other sources.

Trivia

• Prior to 17 August 2015, all enchanted hydrix jewellery degraded to dust. This was changed to them degrading to a broken state instead.
• Hydrixes and onyxes are the only gems whose alchemy value decreases after being cut.
• Hydrix appears to be a portmanteau of Hydra and Nix, the second- and third-largest moons of Pluto. Pluto itself being named after the god of the Underworld - the hydrix gem only being obtainable in Gielinor's Underworld.
