The nose peg is a member's only piece of Slayer equipment, requiring level 60 Slayer to wear. When worn, the peg protects the player from the special attack of the aberrant spectre which, if not equipped, will cause a rapid and significant reduction in the player's stats and life points. The nose peg can be bought from any Slayer Master. It is one of the items needed for constructing a slayer helmet and a full slayer helmet. When talking to NPCs, the nose peg resembles a clothes peg or clothespin.

Using Protect from Magic while not wearing the nose peg has no benefit, as aberrant spectres drain your combat stats significantly enough to still deal heavy damage.
