Slayer points are a currency obtained by completing Slayer assignments or a special challenge from any Slayer Master except for Turael and Spria. The number rewarded depends on the Slayer Master, with the tougher masters awarding more points. Completion of the quest Smoking Kills will double the value of the points received. Additionally, points may be earned by trading in completed Tuska masks.

The maximum number of Slayer points a player can have at once is 64,000. However, this is not a hard cap. If a player completes a task with 63,999 points, then they will receive the entirety of the points from that task. Furthermore, Tuska masks can still be traded in for 20 points each after 64,000 points have been obtained.

When received from Raptor's chest of slaying, a different icon is used in the interface.

Slayer points can be earned in free-to-play by completing tasks from Jacquelyn, but they cannot be spent as a free player.

Obtaining points[edit | edit source]

There are several ways of obtaining Slayer points: completing Slayer assignments, Slayer challenges, completing contracts on the Arc assigned by Ling, handing in completed Tuska masks, and opening the Raptor chest.

For an exhaustive list of all known sources for this item, see here.

Assignments[edit | edit source]

The points listed below are the full points per task, for which completion of the quest Smoking Kills is required. Before then, players will only receive half the listed points, rounded down (except for Jacqueline's regular tasks, which still award 1 point). If Smoking Kills has been completed, players will gain full points even if their membership expires.

A minimum of five tasks must be completed before points are awarded. Every tenth task awards five times the value of the rewarded points, with every 50th awarding fifteen times the value of the points. Completion of the entire Karamja achievements boosts the amount from Duradel/Lapalok's tenth tasks, but by a very minor amount.

The "Task streak" counter in the Slayer overlay counts the number of finished tasks. So, for example, if the "Task streak" says 49 (or 99, or 149, ...), finishing the current task will trigger the 15x point reward for the 50th task.

Point values after Smoking Kills
Slayer Master Points per task Points per 10th task Points per 50th task Notes
Turael or Spria 0 0 0 These Slayer masters will never award Slayer points and assignments will not contribute to completion streak. Cancelling a task to receive an easier one will reset the player's current completion streak to 0; However, completion streak will remain the same after accepting and completing a new task from these masters, as long as the previous task was completed and not cancelled.
Jacquelyn 1 5 15 Jacquelyn's tasks are easy, but also contribute to completion streak.
Vannaka 2 10 30 Vannaka's tasks are easy and fast, and can be used to complete the first four tasks and quickly begin earning points.
The Raptor ?–21 ?–105
(Multiples of 5)
?–315
(Multiples of 15)
The amount of Slayer points received from the Raptor's assignments depends on your Slayer level and the number of Slayer Trophies mounted. Each mounted trophy (up to a maximum of 3), as well as reaching level 113 (the halfway mark) and then level 120, increases the points received per task by one, up to 21 points at level 120 with all 3 trophies mounted.
Mazchna or Achtryn 4 20 60 Mazchna or Achtryn gives more experience per task than Vannaka.
Chaeldar 10 50 150 Chaeldar provides better experience and more Slayer points than Vannaka, despite taking longer to complete, as it can accumulate to more experience and points over a period of time. She is the highest level Slayer master to not have a Slayer level requirement.
Sumona 12 60 180 Sumona's tasks are very similar to Duradel's, though usually in lower quantities of monsters set. Sumona is best used by players who lack the combat and/or Slayer level to use Duradel. At high levels she can assign corrupted creatures, making her more profitable than using Jacquelyn as a buffer between 10th and 50th tasks.
Duradel or Lapalok 15 75
(80 after Elite Karamja achievements)
225 These masters are recommended for point-earning tasks, due to the comparatively high number of points received upon completing their tasks.
Kuradal 18 90 270 Like Duradel or Lapalok, she is recommended for point-earning tasks, due to the comparatively high number of points received upon completing them. She requires 75 Slayer to use and should be used if the player cannot access Morvran or Laniakea.
Morvran 20 100 300 Like his predecessors listed above, he is recommended for point-earning tasks, due to the high number of points received from them. You should always use Morvran for point-earning tasks with 85 Slayer and completion of Plague's End unless you've unlocked Laniakea or want to risk wealth in the Wilderness.
Laniakea 22 110 330 Laniakea can assign "cluster tasks", which are groups of similar monsters designed to give the player freedom in which kind of monster they kill. A dragon cluster task, for example, allows the player to kill any kind of dragon instead of the regularly assigned black dragon etc. tasks.
Mandrith 22 110 330 He is also recommended for quick point-earning tasks, due to the high number of points received and the possibility of small and quick tasks. However, all of his tasks have to be done in the Wilderness. Therefore, caution is advised. Additionally, he awards a wilderness slayer chest on completion of each task. A single reaper point is also rewarded if the task is completed without dying or skipping.

Quick farming[edit | edit source]

The best method to farm slayer points is to use Jacquelyn and block cave slimes, cave bugs, cows, frogs, ghosts and birds (requiring 300 quest points to unlock the needed slots). This will only result in her assigning spiders, goblins, skeletons, bats, rats, and zombies, all of whom can be found in the Lumbridge Catacombs. Use NPC Contact to reach Jacquelyn after completing each task from her. After completing the ninth task, head to a higher-level slayer master and complete the tenth or fiftieth task there if the player can or is willing to do it; a skip can be beneficial for particularly annoying tasks such as lava strykewyrms. The Slayer Introspection relic power is highly recommended to further speed up all tasks. The method's only drawback is the very steep requirements needed for optimal point gain. The method is further enhanced during events where slayer points are doubled.

Challenges[edit | edit source]

Slayer challenges are sometimes given to players by Slayer Masters. They award the normal number of Slayer points (the number that would have been given if it was a task) plus bonus Slayer points and Slayer experience.

Slayer Master Additional Slayer points awarded
Turael or Spria 0
Jacquelyn 5
Vannaka 14
The Raptor 20[note 1]
Mazchna or Achtryn 3
Chaeldar 25
Sumona 30
Duradel or Lapalok 35
Kuradal 0[note 2]
Morvran 45
Mandrith 35
Laniakea 45
  1. ^ Does not count as a normal task, and regular points are not rewarded.
  2. ^ Although Kuradal doesn't give bonus slayer points, the challenge will still count as a normal task, and you will be rewarded accordingly.

Contracts[edit | edit source]

Up to 8 Slayer points may be obtained per contract assigned by Ling that is completed on the Arc.

Tuska masks[edit | edit source]

Tuska masks, obtained by slaying airuts (requiring 92 Slayer and a task to get its parts) can be handed into any Slayer Master for 20 Slayer points per mask.

Raptor Chest[edit | edit source]

The Raptor key, created by combining four key parts individually dropped by four different level 96 Slayer monsters (Wyverns for part 1, Ripper Demons for part 2, Camel Warriors for part 3, and Acheron mammoths for part 4), can be used to open the Raptor's chest of slaying in War's Retreat. The player gets 375 slayer points each time they open the chest, along with other rewards.

Rewards[edit | edit source]

There are a variety of rewards which can be purchased using Slayer points, including learning how to craft Slayer equipment and gaining various Slayer-related abilities.

Having unlocked all abilities to craft Slayer items and the ability to deliver killing blows quicker is a requirement needed to get a trimmed completionist cape.

Once the helm upgrades have been purchased, any subsequent purchases of the upgrades are reduced to 10% of the original cost.

Slayer points can also be used to purchase certain rewards from Death's Store.

This ability functions with ranged and magic attacks; the player does not need to be positioned adjacent to the monster to activate the finishing blow effect.

This ability does not work when using experimental fungicide during Chaeldar's challenge.

The item may still be used to kill a monster slightly above zero life points as before.

It is stated in-game that 75 Slayer is required for this ability, but neither purchasing it nor using it actually requires the stated level.

The number of rings a player can fuse to it depends on the tier of the helmet.

Players can recharge the teleports by fusing more rings, or by paying 5 co-op Slayer points. The helm does not gain the ring of life property of the ferocious ring, and already has the non-teleport properties of a ring of slaying. Fused slayer helmets benefit from the ferocious ring damage boost.

Assignment[edit source]

Item Slayer points.png: RS3 Inventory image of Slayer points Notes
Cancel task 30 Skips the player's current assignment without penalties. The next assignment will gain the player normal task progression and Slayer points. However, if a current task is cancelled by accepting a new task from Turael or Spria, task streak will reset and the player will need to complete four assignments before they can start earning points again.

This is only worth buying if tasks are from Chaeldar, Sumona, Duradel, Kuradal, Morvran or Laniakea, unless you are near a 10th or 50th task. It would take a minimum of two tasks from Laniakea, Duradel or Kuradal and three from Chaeldar or Sumona to regain the points used in buying this service.

Block task 100 Skips the player's current assignment without penalties and permanently removes the assignment from the player's task list - the player will not be assigned that monster again. There is a current maximum limit of 8 types of assignments that can be cancelled - one for every 50 quest points, up to a maximum of 400 quest points. Cancelling the removal of monsters allows the monster to be assigned again, but does not refund points spent removing the monster. Blocking a cluster task from Laniakea does not prevent the individual subset task from being rolled, for example blocking Creatures of Daemonheim can still roll Kal'gerion demon or Stalker creature tasks.
Extend task 30 Extends the player's number of monsters to kill on that task by 20% (e.g., 180 Nihil would be 216 instead). While this can be used at any point during the task, the 20% is still based on the initial number of monsters. It does not provide extra slayer points, compared to boss slayer. You cannot extend a task that is the same as your previous task, if the previous task was extended.
Prefer task 100 Extends the player's current assignment automatically and approximately doubles the chance for the assignment to appear as a task in the future.[1] There is a current maximum limit of 8 types of assignments that can be preferred - one for every 50 quest points, up to a maximum of 400 quest points. Cancelling a preferred task does not refund points spent preferring the monster.

Block/prefer lists are shared among all Slayer masters, even when one does not assign the task block/preferred from another master.

Trivia[edit | edit source]

  • Originally, Smoking Kills was required to obtain points. This was removed in January 2014 as part of a rework of the Slayer skill. Some confusion arose, causing Jagex to clarify that the quest would be required to obtain full points.[2]
  • Slayer points were mistakenly added to the Grand Exchange with the update to the Raptor's chest of slaying on 4 May 2020 due to their dummy item having a new icon. The slayer points' starting price was 1 and had a buy limit of 100. When slayer points were removed from the Grand Exchange a week later, any remaining offers stated that the buy limit was -1.
  • If a player has all the requirements for Smoking Kills but haven't completed it, they are prompted to do so every time they complete a Slayer task with the message: "Complete the 'Smoking Kills' quest to be receive[sic] double points for each Slayer task completed."
