Selene is a resident of the City of Um, located in the chapel in the south-eastern corner of the city. Players can speak with her to learn certain prayers and Ancient Curses.

While reaching her only requires the quest Necromancy!, learning prayers has additional Necromancy level and quest requirements. The Necromancy level requirement for each new prayer isn't boostable.

After teaching the player the Ruination curse, Selene mentions the possibility of teaching them Prayers related to Guthix, Zamorak, Kharazi, Armadyl, the Godless, Bandos, and the Menaphite Pantheon, depending on the day of the week she is spoken to. It is currently unknown how such prayers can be learned.

History and personality[edit | edit source]

Selene is a polytheist who follows the teachings of many gods alongside one another. While uncommon on Gielinor, Selene's people believe that the beliefs of each god are not as incompatible as they may initially appear. In life, she was a Priestess of the Grey, which she described as a great honour. As a priestess, she provided spiritual guidance to others using the values of the gods; through Zamorak, ambition, strength and change; through Saradomin, loyalty, wisdom and self-control, and through Armadyl, altruism, equality and forgiveness.

Unlockable prayers[edit | edit source]

Learning Sanctity requires the quest King's Ransom and completion of the Knight Waves training ground activity. While related, Protect from Necromancy does not need to be learned from Selene to use.

All curses require the quest The Temple at Senntisten to learn. Learning Ruination will also require a praesul codex, a rare drop from Nex: Angel of Death. While related, Deflect Necromancy does not need to be learned from Selene to use.
