When choosing a kit, think about what brand to choose
Remember that when choosing a digital SLR camera you are getting the whole package (lenses, accessories etc.). Each manufacturer offers accessories that are compatible with its brand of cameras. Therefore moving to another manufacturer, might not be so simple.
If you're thinking about switching from classic compact or ultrazoom definitely think about our digital SLR cameras, they include lenses and accessories. Especially designed for novice photographers.
What you get in the kit?
Kit includes, of course the body of a digital SLR itself and the lenses. First, think about what pictures you wish to take and then customise the selection kit.
Some kits also contain a memory card which stores captured images. Without the memory card no storage is possible. For recording video and sequential shooting, fast cards with a large capacity are suitable.
Your equipment should be kept free from dirt and shocks. For this purpose consider a camera bag, where you can easily protect the equipment. They provide a number of pockets for small accessories (batteries, memory cards, filters, etc.)
What if I do not want to purchase the whole kit?
You can choose single body without lens reflex cameras lenses sold separately non discounted, as with the kit. You must have the necessary accessories.
The investment in an independent housing is recommended to photographers who are planning to move to a new model and already have the complete equipment.
Important parametres
Each model features different parameters. How to choose the right one?
- Sensor Size - is closely related to image quality. Generally, the larger the sensor, the higher the resulting image quality and less noise.
- Sensor resolution - high resolution does not necessarily mean that your photos will be better. In practice, the pixel size and sensitivity. The larger the pixels, the better the information they provide.
- The sensitivity of the sensor - indicated value in units of ISO. In practice, this means how much the sensor will react to incident light. But with higher sensitivity, the amount of noise is increased which can degrade the photo.
- Shutter speed - the length of time when the film or digital sensor inside the camera is exposed to light known as "exposure time". A long exposure time causes blurring of the subject. Conversely, the shorter the exposure time, the more action you can capture.
- The number of frames per second - standard cameras are able to capture 3 to 5 frames per second. A professional can handle up to 10 frames per second, which are used predominantly by photojournalists.
- Weight - this parameter is up to the personal discretion of the photographer. Heavier body brings better stability, but trying to endure the whole day with one will ensure a nice physique.
