The DFG does not offer fellowships to students for individual funding, for dissertation work or stays abroad. Only researchers who have completed their doctorates are entitled to apply to the DFG. However, students can participate in DFG-funded projects as assistants. This way, the DFG supports research-oriented teaching in its various funding instruments.
Starting from your first semester, you are eligible to participate in a Research Training Group, Collaborative Research Centre or in a DFG-funded research project as a student assistant. You can learn scientific working methods, make your own contributions and even travel to conferences or congresses.
If you are interested, please contact the person in charge of the group or research project directly. The project leader in question is responsible for the announcement and appointment of project positions. You may not apply to the DFG for participation in funded projects.
