The pacing and everything in this book is slow. We get a snippet of interesting then slow wayyy down and toss in a bunch of different sex scenes. They are supposed to be learning how to be priests of the body, but we as the audience get a lot of the lectures glossed over. There’s a ton of telling and not enough showing going on here.
I got bored about 60% through. Yes we know they love each other, yes they will do anything ok. Got it.
Talin is also summoned by his brother to go visit during the holiday. The whole interaction here was a bit off for me.
And our FMC Nari has just been going through the motions and not really truly asserting herself. Also I still don’t get how being a priest of the body and learning these classes will help Zeal in his mission to further get belief in him.
There’s still just a ton of plot holes or confusing things that haven’t been explained clearly if at all.
Why, aside from power, would anyone be against what Nari is doing?
I may read the next one but may need to either take a break or read it in doses....more
I liked the book. I like Nariana. I like her men and I even like Zeal. What I disliked was the way the pacing was written. A ton of things we3.5 Stars
I liked the book. I like Nariana. I like her men and I even like Zeal. What I disliked was the way the pacing was written. A ton of things were told instead of shown. I am not a fan of that writing style and I’ve read a lot of Hadley’s previous works, Rise of the Iliri, Demon’s Muse and a few others. This does not have the same style. While the story still comes across and I still can gain insight and emotions from our characters I still felt slightly disconnected.
I wanted to see some of the glossed over parts at least partially if we couldn’t have a full scene. Maybe gloss over after we get to be privy to the conversations. I do understand that if it’s to retell something to catch that character up on something that that should be glossed over but I would love to have the character’s reaction there. I just felt like a lot of things were lost for me in this style.
Still I enjoyed it all except Tishlie she’s annoying, I hope she has some comeuppance soon.
Overall I still enjoyed myself and I look forward to reading further and seeing where this went....more

First things first, this book is erotica. I didn’t exactly know that going in. I knew there was going to **spoiler alert** Decent Start for new Author
First things first, this book is erotica. I didn’t exactly know that going in. I knew there was going to be sex, but I didn’t know it was going to be the plot.
6% in to the first book we have our first sex scene, and I was jarred, again because I wasn’t quite aware this was going to be an erotica. Once I realized that I was able to set aside some expectations.
The writing is not terrible, but I did find several typos or incorrect words and incorrect quotation marks for when someone is speaking. I highlighted these while reading, and those will be attached to my goodreads review, so hopefully the author can see them and fix those minor issues.
Now the story as a whole was minuscule. After about the 23 sex scene I started to skim them. I love smut as much as the next person but I need a bit more story to mine. I’m still not entirely clear exactly what a Siren does or is needed for, why Royalty is so important, why there are clans. I honestly don’t feel like I get enough in depth explanations on what everything was until close to the end of the book.
About I want to say 75% maybe 80% of the way through is when the plot of the story came through, where we paused the sex or only sprinkled it in and tackled some of the issues that were mentioned early on. This was nice, this gave me some more insight into a Siren, and a Pod and a..Psi? It took a while to figure out that they aren’t shifters so that was kinda a bummer. Nothing was explained about the Siren lore and why they are different or why they were linked to the ocean. Tbh it was said they have special powers but aside from the bite/crests no one exhibited powers. Meg was able to notice and differentiate some smells but this wasn’t expanded on.
The story, sex aside, has a good base but still lacks in enough details.
As to Meg and the guys being in love I never saw it. I was told they were in love, but I never knew why they were in love. Side from them having some mystical connection. The wedding was a bit odd bc I couldn’t tell if human society knew about sirens, it didn’t seem so, but how they got their wedding going with what sounded like a poly form? Idk.
A lot of the plot was obvious as well as far as villains and how they were related to the story. I felt like the villain big scene was a bit too easy. About who Meg was. But I don’t understand the prophecy and why there was one to begin with. Was there a big bad? They have powers? Where?
The book was cute, Margery is great for Donal and Tynan. But Donal always gets in the way of himself. Overall A cute story to go with the overall plot

This is a cute story, with some almost raunchy sex involved. However, there were some points I didn't like Colby, one was when he was a dick 3.5 Stars
This is a cute story, with some almost raunchy sex involved. However, there were some points I didn't like Colby, one was when he was a dick head to Channing when she was trying to take care of him. I didn't like it at all. However the way the book is written the twang is written into the words that it conveys that type of accent and gave it a more authentic appeal for me. I really liked Gemma and Cash, that's a story that sounds good. I was disappointed that we weren't going to get more between Channing and Colby's family, I thought that might be a bit more important and that was a loose end I wanted tied up. Overall it's a good read, sometimes there was too much sex, but other times the story was good....more
