So I didn’t like this one and it was because of how much hope we were given by Glen’s mom. How much of a refuge the Northern pack was supposed to be. How Marguerite was to be the maternal figure Flor had needed. Instead she became pushy about Glen, and then insinuated that Flor OWED THEM. Disgusting. This woman has been Hunted, and abused for a long time. And you do this? Where is the compassion?
Then to find out about the pack and actually what was going on, and how they didn’t exactly have a clue? I’m not buying it. Their answers were weak. To “protect” the others they kept them lower ranked? How does that help protect the pack and the vulnerable when the people who are supposed to be the Enforcers are weak and abuse their power?
Then everyone hating on Flor is getting a little bit old for me. I’m gunna need her to have, aside from her mates, a trusted person to lean on. Someone like Del would have been perfect. Is he really dead? I hope not but so far we’ve seen nothing.
The ending was intriguing with Luke. Was the Alpha we heard Sargent, who might be idk Flor’s uncle maybe? Mate? Idk. But I’m not 100% certain it’s him. It might actually be Calloway the former Alpha or a new player, like Finn’s parents orrrrr the Rogues, though didn’t one,of them get away? The silver teeth dude? I suspect they are colluding, Finn’s parents, with all the nefarious people like it is a whole big conspiracy. I suspect it’ll be maybe a self fulfilling prophecy like she was gunna rise up against someone but instead they messed with magic and she got Hunted and abused and now she’s more powerful bc of it. Watch. lol. I like Flor she inspires the masses. So far I like Brand and Joaquin, though I wish that he wasn’t so invisible.
I’m worried about Luke and I think that Flor won’t make it in time and I really don’t understand her reluctance to go to him knowing he’s her mate and he’s suffering. After learning that I would her wolf would demand they fix it, expeditiously, like now. And yet…she didn’t really seem to have that reaction and I don’t understand it.
I know she’s scared of Southern, that makes sense. But. Isn’t she stronger and more badass now? You’d think she might’ve gained a bit of confidence.
Also a few of the mates say I Love You and I do feel like we haven’t seen enough of them together, live action, to really exactly see that per se. A lot of sections are told instead of showing but the book is still good.
Honestly this was a great book for a good warm fuzzy. Charlie’s alpha’s really take good care of her and her daughter. The big culminatCute Easy story
Honestly this was a great book for a good warm fuzzy. Charlie’s alpha’s really take good care of her and her daughter. The big culmination wasn’t too terrible and happened like at 90%. Overall I really enjoyed the men and the cast of characters and how they helped Charlie live and move on. It’s really a nice story....more
I went into this rather blind and it was amazing and everything everyone said it was. It took me a minute to figure out the differExcellent Well done.
I went into this rather blind and it was amazing and everything everyone said it was. It took me a minute to figure out the different terms and how this world works. But once I figured it out I loved it. I enjoyed so much of Xaden’s will they won’t they. I hated Daine’s constant dismissal of Violet’s strengths and always seeing her as weak. I am disappointed in who ended up dying at the end of the book and was secretly hoping some new power would flare.. But once we got to the end and we heard some of the conversation I pieced together that big bombshell surprise.
The world building is fab this is so different from a lot of books I’ve read and yet so similar too in terms of an academy. But I loved the entire thing. The bonded dragons are fun and funny too.
We still don’t get enough information and this book is spent with Rhi banging her mates most of the time. The big major happenings hStill more to come
We still don’t get enough information and this book is spent with Rhi banging her mates most of the time. The big major happenings happen toward the end of the book. We have a ball that’s a huge lead up and we barely get any type of time there before all hell breaks loose.
And then I’m wondering about Tristan and why Rhi feels so severely. I’m excited to see where this goes and how the last 3 will join the group.
I still don’t like the lack of information. I don’t like how Spencer and Tristan had a sudden change of heart and now want to show caring for our girl. But on the flip side Rhi not listening to anything Tristan has to say drove me nuts. We are supposed to be adults here, have a convo please.
Overall I do enjoy the book despite it having heavy high school vibes with the standard cheerleader bully trope. ...more
I still can’t quite understand the bullying. I can’t quite understand why the characters behave the way they do. Their experBetter and a bit more info
I still can’t quite understand the bullying. I can’t quite understand why the characters behave the way they do. Their experiences and reactions to things have not been explained clearly enough for me to have full understanding. So I can’t absolve them of their actions or accept any apologies. So far they seem to bully her bc of the bond but if fated mates are precious shouldn’t she be treated so kindly?
Another thing that truly bugs me and isn’t completely addressed is her isolated upbringing and how none of the men in her life have acknowledged this. They all expect her to know things, or to have shirked her responsibilities but how would they know anything?
I do like some of the guys but again I can’t quite understand all the motivations.
For some reason maybe it’s how many other academy books are but I keep waiting for Winnie to turn on Rhia but it seems like that might not be actually happening. I do like Winnie.
I also wonder if Pip has been alluded to being right under Rhia’s nose with info she’s been looking for. I can’t help but feel there’s more to him.
Also I have questions about the others are they keeping the bond hidden bc they think she can pick and choose? Or what? The little speech about mates from Spencer was great but his mate is standing in front of him so he isn’t doing those things… it’s so confusing. I hope we get some information soon.
In this one we have 2 bonds, and find a little bit more info....more
Ok I’m all for academy and bully romances but the best they can call her is Pig Girl? And bullying her for what? I disPretty Juvenile for a “college”
Ok I’m all for academy and bully romances but the best they can call her is Pig Girl? And bullying her for what? I dislike bullying when there’s no context and so far the context we get is they are all angry about her. They are angry about her ignorance and they are angry around her but no one is explaining ANYTHING to our FMC. She’s been lonely and alone for ages. But they don’t care. They don’t care to get to know her and just pick on her.
I expected better from a college. Like I know there’s still bullying and high school mentality behaviors in adults, but this was too much like high school. Granted they are like 20s but - Pig Girl? Chores? Seeing naked guys? These are all negative things? Idk.
The writing is not bad though and in a style I can read quickly and not trip over. I didn’t find any spelling issues or anything like that. I also know there’s some secrets and things we still need to uncover and I’m kinda on bored to try out book 2....more
If she’s this powerful Goddess incarnate why can’t she just demand and do things? Why must she do political things? PerhaI love it but also dislike it
If she’s this powerful Goddess incarnate why can’t she just demand and do things? Why must she do political things? Perhaps it wasn’t explained to me but if you’re all powerful surely you don’t have to follow the rules. Also why tf can’t they mate yet? Some tradition? But they could possibly communicate via the bond if they fully mated yes? Then why not do it? Also she can see the former Nicnevin’s so why doesn’t she have them spy on her enemies? Especially if Caed’s father is on his way to their area. I feel like a lot of things could be solved relatively quickly with her powers but we don’t utilize them well.
Also for how much her fever was spoken about it really felt like it was two scenes and then over. I’d have liked a little bit more if it was supposed to last more than a few days.
I hated the last half of the book. I’d like to know why the Guard thought it was acceptable to disband essentially. I want to figure out why Jaro thought it was appropriate to rush off bc of his feelings and his wolf rather than talk to Rose about what’s going on. Especially when they are in enemy territory.
Caed’s curse nothing happens with him in this book. No saving grace no special thing. No conversation or action to show his change.
Bram jumping in front of Rose when she will rebirth was dumb. Especially since it sounds like he can’t come back from that….still iffy on that.
I am seriously enjoying Lonnie’s journey and I even like Scion despite him locking her away for a year. I’m liking learning their motives andWell Done
I am seriously enjoying Lonnie’s journey and I even like Scion despite him locking her away for a year. I’m liking learning their motives and thought processes. There’s so much to unravel here including from Lonnie herself. What is this power she has? Does she have more than one? Is she related to Aisling? Tons of questions and I can’t wait to read more. But this book had less Bael than the previous book. I’m hopeful to see more of Bael and Scion. Also why is Scion being so idk ignorant of what’s going on? It’s weird and I can’t wait for him to get on board.
I am still questioning exactly what Dullahan is doing. I need to know more about Rosey though and what she was doing. ...more

I really enjoyed this there is mystery and intrigue and it is really well written. Lots of showing vs telling which is my very favorite style to read. I enjoyed this whole book. The Fae are supposed to be big bad but so far I haven’t seen anything bad happen to our FMC. I’m not sure where this is going to go at all. I should have expected the info bomb that was dropped at the end there. It should have made sense. I wonder how this will go and I can’t wait to find out. I feel like was her sister like her? What’s going on there bc it didn’t seem like her sister was like her. What happened in this book is crazy though especially with Rosey. I’ll be excited to see how Lonnie prevails bc I expect her to....more
In some ways I felt like the ending was rushed but also taking super long as well. I couldn’t decide which way to go. With 3.5 Stars A good ending but
In some ways I felt like the ending was rushed but also taking super long as well. I couldn’t decide which way to go. With the infiltration I felt like some of the issues presented in book 1 were not well explained. Sure the reasons are logical but I still dislike it. I disliked how we had to see Morgan do something none of them thought about? Explain to me how a centuries old dragon wouldn’t think to utilize this in such a way? But Morgan, the human, could? Yes it tracks and again was logical in its presentation but it still felt entirely too easy and kind of a let down. I also disliked how long it took for Zahak and Morgan to fulfill the bond. I didn’t understand waiting. Especially with what went down at the end of book 1.
Overall I’m hopeful we will see more from this series and more fleshing out of the world and characters. I hope that Lexie could be the one to maybe have more than 1 mate out there because she deserves lots of love. Still holding out for an RH in this series ...more
I enjoyed Savoy’s part in the overall Sept saga. It was a little slow going there but everything came Great story and continuation of the overall plot
I enjoyed Savoy’s part in the overall Sept saga. It was a little slow going there but everything came out in the end. Though I am a little thrown off by how quickly Savoy gave into The Knights. I still don’t know exactly what that title means. I also feel like there is still a ton we don’t know about Savoy and her story. I can’t wait for more to unfold. And it is interesting to see how her logic unfolds also like when she ran into Vinna and thought what she did. It never occurred to her there could be another possibility.
The writing at the start is a bit slow and choppy for my taste. It wasn’t the style I was expecting from Ward, though it’s been a minute sinc3.5 Stars
The writing at the start is a bit slow and choppy for my taste. It wasn’t the style I was expecting from Ward, though it’s been a minute since I’ve read a book of hers. Still I felt like the story with Abby and Sig was very telling and rarely showing. So many things relating to the pregnancy were off page. That was annoying. I wanted to experience more things with Sig and Abby than we did. I wanted to see his thoughts when they heard the heart beat, I wanted to have just a bit more depth and insight. That being said the book got better toward the end. The flow that I was looking for was there, more things were happening on page. Still I felt their love. I liked their communication too. Though when they were separated I wish we saw more of a bit of their day to day without each other.
Still enjoyed the book. Would have liked to see more on the preparations, the birthing classes and such like that. Did Abby not have a shower? Did Britney’s parents not throw one? All these little elements don’t happen in the book....more

This book was intriguing in that we only know as much as our FMC, Morgan. And what we do know isn’t much. We are learning and adjusting to a new world. I suspected what was going to happen but I didn’t realize who the culprit to the mystery would be. I don’t mind the rough handling of Morgan by the men because they aren’t human and as Morgan says she has to stop putting earth rules on them and learn more. I really enjoyed the whole book. I found it fun, hot and spicy but also interesting enough to want to know more. ...more

This took me a while to finish because I didn’t want to end Aran’s story. Overall I enjoyed the whole harem and how they all came together. I’m glad Jinx finally named the other people that she’s dealing with and I suspect she might have her own story some time. I loved seeing Sadie again and especially loved loved loved Scorpius and Cobra fighting over who can deal with pain better it’s SO THEM and was hysterical. I enjoy little moment like that. I also found how they could help Aran with her soul issue and the gaping emptiness in her heart. I love how attentive Corvus became. And I just got warm fuzzies from them all....more

This is Heather’s story who we met over the past several books but got to know more in the previous book. This one is about “those dang Canadians” apparently. The way things go down with Pete were interesting, I did find it odd that Herne kept him alive. It doesn’t seem to be his normal MO with The Laws and such. But him and Gretchen were sort of after thoughts and the tension from outside the relationship was really nil. Most of the conflict arose from their own preconceived notions. I did like mates. I like how we see them over time getting to know Heather but I didn’t like how some things were glossed over, or how we would mention some people and then kind of they’d disappear. Overall I enjoyed the book and can’t wait to see what happens with Moya....more
So I’m really enjoying the series but I’m also super frustrated with the telling and glossing over events3.5 stars too much telling not enough showing
So I’m really enjoying the series but I’m also super frustrated with the telling and glossing over events. Why can’t we SEE them having dinner and hear their conversations? Why must we be told about it? Why when certain people go to the office do we not see those events but again are told them? It felt imbalanced because I felt like I was seeing more telling than showing the entire book. A lot of the stuff is mundane and doesn’t really move the plot forward imo.
I don’t like Tash. I think she’s annoying AF and it’s ridiculous how no one has questioned anything.
The plot is a little flimsy for me as well. It’s very vague. The fact that Jess’s dad hasn’t come after them and he lives behind them. No demons really attacked them until THEY tried to attack the demons. But no one has come to harm them. So where is all this evil that supposedly is running rampant. So what is the purpose of this seal? Is it a prison? Why must demons go there? I was suspicious of the Order from the beginning. I still don’t completely believe the purpose of the Brethren is to close the seal. I suspect there’s a lot more going on that we don’t know but bc the plot is vague it hasn’t been fleshed out. Tbh it’s mostly about Jess’s relationships with a side of plot.
It’s good, things really start happening at the end of course. But slogging through the bs that was Megan and school and such was boring. Overall I was thinking about this being the last book I read for now, but with that ending I want to see what happens however if it continues to slog through mundane life stuff I may have to stop bc imo it’s not completely important to the overall plot of the book....more

This book is decent but I’m going to talk about some issues I’m having with the book in general and it will contain spoilers so if you don’t want to read them, stop now.
My main issue comes with us finding out who the big bad is though it could have been obvious from the beginning. But what’s annoying here is that there’s a prophecy or two that we haven’t heard enough about really that I feel confused because what exactly does it say? Secondly Zeus is the big bad and he’s coming after Violet bc he believes her to want his throne, but it’s kind of stupid. Violet only came into her powers has shown no nefarious means to anything and yet everyone is after her for her perceived power grab? Zeus doesn’t realize he’s the one fulfilling the prophecy by taking away someone Violet loves. Did she take any steps to gain the throne in all the books? No. It’s annoying af bc it doesn’t seem well explained or well plotted out. Some of what was coming was obvious like the prophecy that Dracula’s daughter will kill Mason. I suspected who it could be and suspected that that person would do it but was not surprised when they showed up to do the deed. All of this culminates with Violet turning Violent. Like.
Other parts of the book is solidifying things with her mates but it’d not been directly spoken about so that’s something I wish changed where they all had a sit down convo.
Overall the series is interesting but I think it needs a bit more depth to the overall plot....more
