Dark secrets are slowly revealed when a wife and baby go missing, but does the husband or the wife have the bigger secret?
Tommy and Teresa have been married for a couple of years and have a baby girl. When they go missing he has no choice but to involve the cops, but doing so could reveal everything he’s been hiding from all these years.
Detective Lindy Jax is on the case. I thought she did a top notch job and wouldn’t mind if this turned into a series following her.
There's another POV that plays an intricate part in the story, and that's all I'm going to say on that.
Overall, the action never lets up for this fast paced thriller. If you like crime thrillers with powerful people that think they're above the law then you might want to give this one a go.
Narration notes: He did a nice job. Since the cop is a woman I would have preferred a female narrator for her parts.

Caitlin and team are back trying to solve more gruesome murders.
What's better than 1 serial killer? 2! Oh wait, that doesn't sound good at all if it was real life, but it does make for some good, edge of your seat, fast paced fiction reading. Once the plot gets moving, the action is non stop, which I have come to except from this series.
Overall, another suspensefully dark and captivating book in a series that I highly recommend.
Series notes: For sure read the series in order, so you can get a feel for Caitlin.
Narration notes: Hillary is a well seasoned narrator that does a great job.

Katherine (36) & Tom divorced a few years ago, but find themselves spending the holidays together when he offers to watch over her when she has a concussion. The problem is that he's supposed to be in Chicago getting ready to propose to his girlfriend on Christmas Eve. So they set off on an adventure that tests their patience with each other. If something can go wrong it does and I was all for the chaos of it all.
Katherine hates Christmas, understandably so. She was a little much with her workaholic~ness and bickering with Tom, and he made some valid points of why they got divorced. He was really sweet. The banter was good! You just can't help but root for these two to get back together. Overall, a wonderfully fun holiday read.
I was able to listen to a copy as well. Narration notes: I don't have any complaints, except Tim's female voice is not great, which I've been saying for ages.
Lucy's sister, Nikki, is missing and she's determined to find her. Angela is working in the missing persons unit and is eager to help solve the case.
Does Lucy make some smart decisions? Nope, and you might just yell at her a couple of times. A nice, fast paced, dark and twisty suspenseful read. I quite enjoyed the chapters with the killers POV. Interesting way to end the story, too, not sure I loved that, though.
I was able to listen to an audio copy as well. Narration notes: Once I get used to the accents they're fine.

Robert creates a virtual reality game for the assisted living residents of Pondside Manor. Now they're able to do things they never thought they'd be able to do again. The core group ~ Robert, Foster, Laverne and Duane were all likable and well written characters.
When Robert ends up in the pond, still sitting in his wheelchair, we're off to uncover the mystery of who pushed him in, or if it was suicide. I liked the secrets about China being uncovered.
This was a pretty long one coming in at 12 hours 43 minutes and 4 seconds. I've listened to quite a few books narrated by George Newbern and he did a pretty good job ~ maybe he could work on his female voice a smidgen.
Overall, this was just okay for me. At times I wasn't sure if they were in the now or in the game. It would probably be easier to follow along with that if I had read it and not listened.

This book dives into marriage, mother/daughter relationships and daughter/father relationships.
My only daughter and I are only a couple of years off in age to Maggie and Gia. 'Fine' is an answer I hear all too often, so I can totally relate to some aspects of this book.
Maggie and Jim have been married for nearly 20 years. Their 17 year old daughter, Gia, is heading off to college soon. They're all growing apart. Maggie doesn't feel like Jim listens to her or has time for her anymore. They don't appreciate her. They take advantage of her and expect her to do everything. She has a troubled relationship with her own mother and brother, and her father is deteriorating in a nursing home. Jim is getting annoyed with his job as a therapist and knows he's slowly pulling away and avoiding Maggie. So when she meets Michael at the gym, she starts to feel better about herself with this younger man showing interest in her.
Mostly told in Maggie's perspective, we get a couple of parts told by Jim and Maggie's father, Isaac. It was heartbreaking to hear Isaac tell his side about coping with his forgetfulness.
Overall, I wasn't overly wowed, but it was a solid debut. Every character was pretty much annoying at one point or another, except for Isaac. I'm not too sure about the ending, perhaps an epilogue would have been nice to wrap everything up nicely. I would give this author a go again.
Narration notes: It was good for Maggie's voice, but not so much for the male characters. I really wish we had a male narrator for Jim, Isaac and Michael. There were some long pauses that made me think I lost my audio connection, but if I looked at my phone it was just because they were switching to different parts within the chapters ~ would have been nice if the narrator said that maybe.
