There is a purpose. We learn about Delta wolves and their important role in the pack. Then we move into present day where our MCs come into play: Ben, an Alpha shifter, and Evan, a Delta shifter. Ben wants to change attitudes of not only the elders but of other packs so his pack and others like him can live peacefully. Evan and his friend and fellow Delta, Jack, are the ones who can help make that change. Things aren't easy for Ben, which makes for a lot of tension in the story and good action. But there's loads of romance. If you like smoking hot sex, and plenty of it, you've found your book. And we soon learn that Delta's have other special abilities.
The world building is well done and with the addition of Deltas, is a bit different from other shifter books making it somewhat unique. It has good dialogue and action scenes. I highly recommend this to fans of shifter books.

This was a fresh and interesting take on vampires. If you've ever rolled your eyes at the idea of shiny vampires, you'll get a kick our of this one. MThis was a fresh and interesting take on vampires. If you've ever rolled your eyes at the idea of shiny vampires, you'll get a kick our of this one. More than one swipe is made here. There is good humor in this book. I mean, a vampire with a Chihuahua for an emotional support dog? But you get to see vampires as more human than the cliche that they so often are portrayed. The MCs make a great pair. Cash is a human, cowboy boot wearing monster hunter who is totally into karaoke. Dorian is his sidekick vampire turned best friend, turned eventual lover. Both have loads of baggage. There's lots of action in the hunt scenes, interesting creatures they hunt down and kill, and monsters who are hunting them. The side characters add to the story, making it fun and interesting.
I found it to be a fun read with good pacing and interesting and creative world building. The characters are very likable and the romance builds nicely. If you like quirky paranormal, it will hit the spot.

This is a new series by a new author to me and I enjoyed it. The story starts at an archeology dig in Egypt with the MC, Dr. Alexander “Alec” Coimheed whose expertise is Xenoarcheology. They are searching for Dudael. He and his best friend, Dr. Clementine “Clemy” Armistead, uncover a stone tablet. When Alec touches the tablet, a strange blue light shines out of it and he is suddenly surrounded by a war going on around him with strange beings and the most beautiful man he's ever seen.
It turns out the beautiful man is Rafe. He's a protector, but he's not not overly friendly and is very stoic. He begins to loosen up some and his dry humor is charming. It works on Alec and things eventually heat up between them. The three of them work together to discover who the Watcher's are and who the New Watchers are. All of this is attached to the tablet Alec touched.
The action is super intense with a lot of adventure! There are demons that have to be dealt with along the way. This would make a great movie, and it was easy to compare it to a lot of well-known action-adventure movies. The dialogue is fantastic with a lot of wit. The secondary characters go a long way in adding depth to the story. It's fast paced and definitely a page turner. I recommend it to those who are looking for some Indiana Jones style action with some sizzle. ...more

I was taken completely by surprise with this book. The surprise was a good one, but it was a surprise. The blurb didn't prepare me for what I was in store for. I didn't peek at any of the reviews before I read this one, and I'm glad I didn't. This book is wild. It's alternate universe, paranormal, magic, with mythological characters. I do see how it could be considered dub-con (view spoiler)[because Seth and Kevin are put into the situation they are in basically under duress, even though it's with good intentions of the person doing it and it works out in the end (hide spoiler)]. I personally like reading dub-con so I think the squick factor that other reviewers I've seen complain about is lost on me.
This is a crazy, trippy, wild story and I liked that about it. I would have liked to have gotten Kevin's POV rather than it being all of Seth's, but I thought it was easy enough to pick up on what Kevin was thinking through is reactions. I would have liked to have learned more about Maynard Winthrop because we only discover who he and his people are at the very end. I would like to read the second book to see where this goes. If you wild, unconventional stories with a bit of a dub-con edge, this one will make you happy. ...more

Trevor grows up without a pack and without anyone to teach him to be a wolf. He learns that he's a wolf all on his own at an early age. He also learns that he can turn invisible, or ghost. He's mostly alone growing up except for is mom until he meets his fated mate and then his life gets really interesting. About that time someone starts killing wolves too. He meets his fated mate, Ryan. Ryan is an alpha who runs a local pack. He's already set to mate a woman, which causes a lot of trouble for them when he calls things off since she's from a rival pack. And someone is after Trevor and something he has. It's all Ryan can do to keep his fated mate safe and alive long enough to have the mating ceremony. They are constantly being chased and hiding and having to deal with the issues being created by the father of the "jilted mate". There is so much drama and action that the story is never dull or boring. It's easy to follow though and it kept my attention. I felt the pace was comfortable. It's a longer story but I didn't feel that way. I thought the fact that Trevor could become invisible was a nice twist to the traditional alpha-omega-shifter story. It gave the book a unique feel to help stand out. I enjoyed it and would recommend it. ...more
