Meredith is a psychiatrist in New York. A year ago her hockey pro husband died while driving intoxicated - not only killing himself but also a woman and her five year old daughter. Meredith has not been living ever since. She gets up early and walks through the city all day without anything to do or anyone to meet. One day she sees the husband and father of her husband's victims. And he is laughing! He seems happy and healed. How can that be? And suddenly Meredith is kind of a ... stalker. And even worse - a while later - he's suddenly her new patient. What the...?

I enjoyed reading this. It was sad and heartbreaking and mysterious and exciting. But it was also not really anything new or super interesting. I've read a lot of those psycho-plot-twist-mystery thingies. And this was good. I liked it. But it was a bit silly at times and it was hard for me to connect with Meredith. She never came across as very nice or likeable or as someone I would want to befriend. Not really sure what I mean. But I didn't love the character. I liked her in the epilogue though. Don't get me wrong... this is not a bad book. It's really exciting and sad and lots of things. READ IT! If you're a romance-only reader it might be a bit difficult - but try it!

Indy, Zinny and Aster were just planning on spending a fun Bachelorette weekend in the Maryland casino city Slots. But they don't even make it out of the airport before they get kidnapped by this hot guy and his buddies. Hot guy Leto is just trying to save his idiot gambling addict brother's life. Leto is supposed to bring the three legendary Lady Mafia ladies to the mafia boss guy his brother owes money to. But unfortunately the real ladies never showed and now he has to make do with these three crazy chicks. One of which is just his type. Damn. But also ... things might not be as they seem ... and everything will get even more complicated and dangerous ....

Adorable!
That was a fun book. Funny and fast and crazy and criminal and sparky and sexy .... it was a great little story. You immediately like Leto. And then Indy comes along and they're just so adorable together. Super insta attraction on both sides - but she's his hostage and he's a criminal, right? We don't really know what's what in the beginning. LOL!
I really enjoyed reading this. But I'm also not a mafia romance fan at all. This was not really mafia, but everyone is kind of a criminal. So that's not my thing at all. And I wish we would've gotten 100 more pages - lots of things seemed rushed and weird. I liked reading this. I had to read it - it's a Debra Anastasia book - but it's not my genre or it just wasn't my day for this book. Even though I liked it. But I didn't love it. Didn't feel it at all somehow - at least parts of it. Oh - maybe it was because the book didn't know if it was supposed to be a rom-com, a comedy, a mafia story, a mafia romance, a suspensy thriller, or a sisterhood women's fiction thing. Maybe a rom-com-only thing would've been the best choice. For me! Others will just love this kind of mafia thing! So don't mind me - I really enjoyed reading it - it just wasn't my kind of genre mix.
Oh, and if you're extremely weird like I am - and if you want to get to know ALL of Debra's people - many of whom are in here - I would suggest you should at least read Mercy, Havoc + Lock - and everything else too obvs!
LADY MAFIA was a fun and crazy and mafia-ish suspensy rom-com kinda thing! Run to your nearest book dealer for your own Leto - this one is mine!! And do we pronounce him like Jared? Leddoh? Or Leetoe?

Finally back with Kael and Karina. It's only been two weeks since she found out that her twin brother is enlisting in the army. And even worse for Karina, Kael knew and helped him with things and didn't say a word about it to her. She will never be able to forgive him for that. Or will she? She can't stop thinking about him....

Well. That was a bit better than the first book. I still like Kael and Karina. But I also don't like them for so many things. They're so young but they're already in the middle of their lives, their jobs, their adultness, but especially Karina is so very naive and immature at the same time. No idea why and how! And what already bothered me about the first book is back again... Elodie! Why is she? In the book? It's Kael's and Karina's love story. Austin - the twin - has a right to be in here a lot... I can live with that - even though it's way too much about him too. But Elodie? She doesn't make any sense. She destroys the whole love story between K+K because she needs too much screen/page time. Which she totally deserves - she's great - but only if this was her own book. We barely get any Kael and Karina love story because of so many distractions in their lives. I hated that. Especially the end of the book. Ugh. Also - the way K+K finally get back together? That happened just as quickly and weirdly as in the first book. She was all I HATE HIM - I WILL NEVER FORGIVE HIM and then bam they're naked in his truck. That was so weird and fast and without leading up to it somehow. So not good.
Another thing I don't love. The whole military thing. That's such a typical and only American thing. German people or so many others won't have any connection or feelings towards all that. The way American readers will. It's a bit too American for my tastes. Maybe if this whole story would've taken place in an international setting. Like on a US base in Germany, Italy wherever. That way we might've loved it a bit more.
I still liked reading this second book. But I also fast-forwarded a lot at times. Like in the first book, there's so much redundant stuff in here. No idea why Anna felt she had to fill this series with so much stuff. At least this time there are a few interesting scenes and locations and happenings. But still - the book is too long and uneventful. One single book with a great love story and some drama and whatnot would've been so amazing! But alas here we are - with three way too long books - with waayy too long to wait between books! I will definitely read the final book. But I don't think this will ever become a favorite series of mine! But I also have hope that Anna will come up with a new amazing book idea one day soon. Now that she's living all happy and healthy and Avocado-y in LA! ...more

We all remember Chloé's dads from their own trilogy. And yes, I said dads. And not only two dads. Three! Now Chloé is finally old enough to know what she wants. And she wants to go to a private sex club for her 19th birthday. The dads can't know obviously. She's immediately fascinated by the two owners of the club. Long time couple Ethan and Zayne. And those two are just as fascinated by that beautiful innocent girl.

I loved Chloe's dads books so I just had to read this. It sounded so good. Chloe with two guys. Just my thing. But what is not my thing is the whole sex club part. And even worse: the whole Dom thing. Ew. #ConstantCringe So I almost stopped reading in the very beginning. But I kept on going... And it got better. I still HATED the whole sumbissive part, the whole Power thing and the SIR and kneeling and all that cringey talk. And I didn't like that Chloé is only just 19 - that's too young! But it was also cute and sweet and sparky and porny and a bit heartbreaking with the guys' pasts and families. I also hate that we have to wait for three books. Why? One slightly longer one would've been enough. I hate waiting - it's horrible with my book alzheimers! I'm not sure if I'm going to read the next two books. But I think I will. I'll just fast forward through all the dom stuff. I want to know how the dads will deal with everything! LOL!
It's not the book's fault that I hate that porny genre. I love Ella's Chicago world and I'm pretty sure that this will end up being a very cute and sexy trilogy.
CONFESSIONS: ETHAN was a great start in this verry sexy and cute MMF romance trilogy spin-off! READ IT!

Echo + Reign
The story starts on Echo's twelfth birthday. She meets him. Reign. She's too young for romantic things. And she's also too young for the 15 year old bad boy son of her parents' employers. But it's kinda love at first fight for those two. Which turns into hate almost as soon as it starts. Because of a stupid little misunderstanding. And then a few years later she starts dating Reign's best friend Lucas. It's all very complicated because Reign is still in love with her - which he doesn't share with the world. And she still hates him, because of things and because it's kinda the title of the book. Ugh. It got on my nerves a tiny bit in the beginning. She was too young and angry to understand why Reign said what he did back then - if she would've been more mature all of this drama wouldn't have had to happen. Better yet, we could've just cut Lucas out of the book and we would've gotten a great love story for our two darlings. There's so much to tell for both. That would've been perfect. But it wasn't bad the way it was. Just a bit silly and just a bit too much. Especially the dirty talk. Talk about cringe. I don't know how anyone can think that this is sexy? Ew. They're 18 and 21 - and they or rather he talks like a 58 year old porn movie maker or whorehouse owner. So weird. And I would say the story got better after a bit - which it did. BUT - everything still revolves around Lucas. All they do and talk about is with the goal to get her back with Lucas. And I just didn't like that at all. Like I said. Cut Lucas out of the story and we have a great new adult romance with some questioning dirty talk. But still - I liked reading it. It was sweet and sparky and heartbreaking and ... young. Probably too young for middle aged me. But... Cute romance. Very adorable and over-protective broken hero. I would definitely watch the Netflix show!

Yes. I know I'm late to this. But even though I'm the biggest rock star romance fan girl, I'm just not a love triangle fan! And this is very triangly. But now I just had to read it, because I also want to read the 2nd generation book that's coming soon! → Reverse And I can't just not read amazing books. So I read it. And I hated the trianlge part. Ugh. Why does this trope even exist!?? I just hate it. I can live with it if one of the guys is horrible or abusive or anything bad. But here the 2nd guy is so nice and hot and good. But we all know who we really want for Stella from the first second. Ugh. I just hate this whole thing for the other guy. I cried a lot! And I also was a tiny bit confused at the beginning - or rather, thinking back to the beginning when the end happened. When we find out who she picked. Some things didn't make sense to me, but that was probably just to make it more mysterious or whatever. Or I was the only one confused. Anyway. I would've loved it more without the 2nd guy in it. There could've been another kind of obstacle instead. But it was still a great romance. So full of amazing music and so many feels. Beautiful. Can't wait to read the 2nd book!

Well. I loved parts of it. But I also hated most of it. So sorry Brittainy. I just can't handle books with sick people. And I don't care if it's cancer, depression, Parkinsons ... - any and all diseases! Get out of my romances! It seems like most people in books (and real life) are depressed these days. I could live with that in a book - I don't need it, but okay - it is what it is. But wouldn't it be healthier for real-life depressed people to read about healthy people? But what do I know. But then... here we get teased very early on with what will happen and I immediately said to my kindle: If that's happening I'm done! I kept on reading and finished it, but I hated that thing. I also hated other parts. She's 21 and he's 19. Nothing about anything here is illegal ... she could've just asked for another class or another student to tutor. That would've made everything unproblematic. But we obviously need drama in our books. (I don't!) This was not my day, not my book, not my trope(s). I'm so sorry!! Brittainy is not at fault here at all. (Even though I did have my problems with some of the writing/grammar/tenses too!) I just couldn't love this like I wanted to. I think we could've put both of them into college and the story would've been just as great. We could've gotten drama from somewhere else. I don't like student-teacher things. Even though there was nothing illegal about it this time. No creepy pedo moments or anything like in other books. There were lots of cute moments, funny ones (Tom!), very heartbreaking ones. It wasn't all bad! Don't let me scare you too far away with my complaining! I really liked the cast - Tom and the uncle were great. It's a great romance for readers who love student/teacher and heartbreaking sickness things. (Nobody dies! The mothers are already dead though!)
Oh and while I'm at it with all the complaining... LOL! I hated Starlet's dad job - I hate tattoos! I hate-hate-hated her musical taste! BTS? ...more

Beautiful Cover. Sweet Story. But I missed some things. No idea what really, but it was a bit too ... short or fast or ... no idea. I wanted more about the mom and sister and Paul and more about the main part: Callie and Danny's relationship. It was all too quick somehow. They're only 21 - I sometimes had the feeling they were 35. But still - I loved reading it! And I really loved the small town feel and the cooking and eating and Alex and the dog and the friends and the HGTV feel of the whole thing. Very sweet small town romance with a few tragic family moments thrown in. Tiny little thingy... Adorable! This was your typical cute and sweet and sexy college sports romance. I loved reading it. But it was also a bit ... short? I had the feeling that some editor cut a hundred pages. It felt a bit rushed. And then all those people in there. From the first book! I kinda hate when an author doesn't officially call something a series, but it is a series. We meet all the people here and we met all the people in the first book too - which is horrible for my Bookalzheimer brain. BUT - it wasn't too bad - I still liked reading it. That was cute and adorable. Not my favorite in this series though. I just don't like the whole undercover and lying scenario. And I didn't like their first official meeting in the park... So creepy and weird. I would've called the cops! But the story ended up being pretty funny and adorable and sexy. I really liked Gabe & Alex. Just the whole lying part through the whole book was too much for me.
But the cover is one of the prettiest in the series - I just love the color!

Great YA/NA Love Story!
Well, what should I say? I already complained a bit about things in my reviews for the first two books. The stories just don't grab me enough. The writing is not mine. You don't know where the authors are from. Sometimes it's British and sometimes American and sometimes it sounds as if it's google translated from a Polish original. It's all very adorable at times and funny and exciting and verry erotic. But it's also very immature and also not. So weird. I don't know why this has to be a highschool series. It should be a college series. These kids act so old and experienced ... it's just ridiculous. This time the story was cute. She didn't want anything to get in the way of her publishing dream, not even the rich son of the magazine's owner. She wants to do it all on her own. And the rich son? He had a lot of growing up to do. This girl wasn't going to be easy. He had to work hard to be worthy of her. It was cute. But also very frustrating and always the same back and forth arguments. But still - I liked reading it. Not sure if I will read the next books in the series. There are SO many people in these books. So many names. Way too many names for my bookalzheimer brain! And I just found out about the Midnight Dynasty world and the constantly mentioned mafia names in here - no idea what that is and I don't really care. I just really hate that it's all part of a world that nobody told me about before.
But should this series ever come to Netflix, I would definitely watch it for the eye candy alone - probably - those covers are not my thing either - those cover-guys are way too old and porny for highschool kids!☺

I really liked reading this. It was cute and funny and sparky. I just didn't love the way it developed. You just know that her insecurity and his not telling her about his life would break them up. They were so immature and idiotic. I hated the last 30% - well not the very end. But it was just not my type of drama. I want creative drama if there has to be any drama at all. I still liked reading it, but I got so mad at everything toward the end.

Well. It was okay. I think I just had an off day for reading this. I didn't really get into it. It felt like I was reading a book where I missed a prologue novella. No idea why, but it just felt that way. (The way she says - twice - in the first pages, that she just recently found out that Ben had had a crush on her too back then!? She said that like we were supposed to know exactly when and why she recently learned about his crush. So weird!)
But anyway. It wasn't bad. It was a cute romance. There's still a lot of attraction and sparks. It was adorable to watch them really fight for that happy end this time. I just didn't love it. I didn't like how especially Ben talked - so very weirdly. And then everytime someone told a joke - a pun - they explained it - as if we're too stupid to understand. The writing wasn't mine. But it got better towards the end - it was okay. Cute story with not too much unnecessary drama - which I like!

Well. I remember that I started to watch the movie back when it came out ... but then I stopped. Mainly because I found out that it was a series and I hate cliffhangers. But also because I don't like Mafia and kidnapping stories. But the movie wasn't bad - at least the first bit that I watched. Beautiful scenery and music. Pretty people. Weird English accents, but that was ok - the actors and characters were Italian and Polish. But as I said, I stopped watching because ... cliffy. Same with the book. I didn't want to read it, because of the Mafia and kidnapping and cliffy thing, but then I thought ...pfff... why not!? So, here I am. Having read it. And it wasn't bad. At all. I was afraid I would have to DNF after a few percent. Especially because I saw so many bad reviews and lots of people saying how the translation was so horrible. But since I can't speak Polish, I didn't really notice what was wrong with it. But yes, the language was a bit weird. It was translated by a Polish guy, so that's the first thing the publisher did wrong. You need to let a lady translate a book written by a lady. The whole 'voice' of the heroine gets lost this way. And I think they should've used a team of translators - both native and non-native Polish speakers. I highlighted so many mistakes and wrongly used expressions and weird lines - which I hope will be corrected before the book is released! But it wasn't too horrible. The book is written in Laura's POV - which is a bit sad. I really loved the first chapter - in Massimo's POV. But that was the only time we got to hear his thoughts. The book starts as a cute holiday thingy. And yes, we know that Massimo wants to kidnap Laura, but still - the first part was cute and harmless. And then we kind of have to overlook the ridiculousness of the whole You-appeared-in-my-mind-when-I-almost-died-and-now-that-I-know-you're-real-I-have-to-own-you thing. Because if we do overlook that, and if we also overlook how fast Laura accepts her new life, and the sometimes very weird sexy moments, then it's a really great love story. It's sexy, but not too disgustingly weird and bdsm-ish - like the movie and the trailers might've suggested. And it's also very sweet and Pretty Woman/Cinderella-ish with all the shopping and traveling and constant champagne-drinking rich-people stuff. And of course it's also exciting with the whole Mafia and killing and danger part.
What I found a tiny bit weird was how often she called him The Man in Black. That should've been the title of the book. But I guess it sounds or looks really weird as a title in Polish.
I have to admit that there was never a second where I thought - eww - I need to stop reading this sh*t right the eff now. Nope. I really enjoyed it. And I was excited to see how it would end. If there would be a huge cliffy or if somebody would die or be kidnapped - for real. But it wasn't a bad cliffy. Wasn't really a cliffy at all. The story is just not finished yet. There's a lot more coming - and I'm really looking forward to reading book #2.
So, to summarize my review - Laura/Blanka says it best herself at around the 70% mark: ... this wouldn't be an ordinary, boring life - more like a gangster movie sprinkled with some porn. LOL! ...more
